Details

Lee Meadow Camping is a family-oriented and operated campsite sprawled across 27 tranquil acres just a few miles from Woolacombe in Devon. It boasts picturesque views of woodland on one side and the rolling Devon hills on the other, with the Bristol Channel and distant Welsh coast visible in the background.

The campsite includes a farm shop offering free-range eggs from the on-site hens and a variety of freshly made local products & alcohol. Evening meals are available from here in the peak season. Visitors can also enjoy cream teas in the site's tearoom, ideally located for refreshments before or after a scenic walk down to Lee Bay through Fuschia Valley.

Guests have easy access to gentle walks and bike rides directly from the farm, including the safe cycling paths of the former Ilfracombe branch line, right at the farm's end. The expansive site provides ample room for children to play.

Facilities are well-maintained and feature free hot showers, flushing toilets, and washing-up sinks. There are also accessible shower and toilet facilities, a baby changing area, and a token-operated hairdryer. For those interested, e-bike and cycle hire services are available on-site. You can also hire camp fires.

There are two local pubs within walking distance offer fine ales, cider and food, making them popular spots among residents, a testament to their quality. Just a few minutes' drive from the farm, you can enjoy seven miles of golden sand beaches ideal for surfing, diving, kayaking and both shore and boat fishing. On land, there are numerous activities such as mountain biking, hiking, golf, horse riding and quad biking available locally.

Within a 10-minute drive, you can reach Croyde, Putsborough, Saunton Sands, and Braunton Burrows, the largest sand dune system in the UK and a key part of North Devon's Biosphere Reserve, which is Britain's first. These dunes are designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a national nature reserve and a Special Area of Conservation, home to over 400 species of plants. Nearby, you'll also find the quaint fishing villages of Clovelly, Lynton and Lynmouth. The scenic coastal walks, old villages, moorlands and rivers of Exmoor National Park are also close by. The park offers 620 miles of footpaths and bridleways, along with opportunities for cycling, climbing, sea fishing, canoeing and kayaking, all worth exploring for at least a couple of days.
