Headgate Farm
Details
Headgate Farm is situated on Exmoor near the Devon and Somerset border. It is located within Exmoor National Park, which has the distinction of being the first location in Europe and only the second globally to be designated an International Dark Sky Reserve. Here, on clear nights, guests can enjoy stargazing right from their beds, listen to the autumnal roars of red deer stags and wake to the morning chorus of songbirds.
This quintessentially English luxury B&B, situated at the foothills of Exmoor, offers lavish breakfasts and is run by Judy and Henry, who are well-versed in the area’s unique offerings. The farm’s proximity to the moors unlocks a treasure trove of activities, making it a haven for walking, cycling, fishing, shooting and horse riding. Stroll through lanes and woodlands to reach the moors, where stunning views await.
The accommodation includes luxury en-suite bedrooms equipped with full-sized baths and power showers, a Jacuzzi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players and exceptionally comfortable king and super king beds dressed in fine white cotton linens. These rooms offer splendid views of open fields where sheep and horses graze and wildlife abounds.
A hearty English breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients is included in your stay. Additional amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi and parking.
Please note that the B&B accommodations are not suitable for children or babies; however, we do offer a holiday let that can accommodate up to three adults and two children, as well as a welcoming campsite for children, pets, and adults alike. This self-catering caravan is discreetly placed in our spacious grounds near a small water feature, providing a private retreat.
Camping facilities are available on a certified site affiliated with the Camping & Caravanning Club next to the main farm. This includes a well-equipped heated shower, toilet block and a restroom, enhancing your outdoor experience at Headgate Farm.

B&B Review: "Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights for a short get away. We loved every bit of it. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere.. but it was so handy as we were just a short drive away from all the great sights in Exmoor." - Alice G.
Self Catering Review: "The caravan was just a short walk from the farmhouse but set in a lovely little garden for sitting out in after a days sightseeing, there was also plenty of space for parking the car." - Marilyn M.
Camping Review: "We were looking for a secluded spot to get away from all the madness of English caravan parks and holiday rentals. This was perfect, a dewy green oasis in what felt like the middle of nowhere. We loved the sound of the farm animals, the freshness of the air and the vastness of the moors. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend!!" - Paradise525026.
