Cadhay is a stunning Tudor manor house offering luxurious self-catering accommodation for up to 22 guests, with three additional holiday cottages on-site that can accommodate 12-14 more. Located in Ottery St Mary, in the heart of rural East Devon, it's just ten miles from Exeter and six miles from the seaside town of Sidmouth.

While steeped in history and grandeur, Cadhay is not a museum. The manor has been thoughtfully restored, blending its historic charm with modern comforts. The Manor House

The grand Manor House at Cadhay, dating back to the 16th century, exudes historic charm and character. In recent years, it has been transformed into a versatile venue for weddings, holidays, family gatherings and groups seeking a large house for a memorable stay. With 12 bedrooms, the Manor comfortably accommodates 22 guests. The entire house is equipped with central heating and wood-burning stoves provide extra warmth, ensuring your comfort at all times. The kitchen, featuring an Aga and electric oven, is fully equipped with all modern conveniences. For hosting large banquets or relaxed group meals, the elegant Georgian dining room is perfect, seating up to 22 guests in luxurious surroundings. The accommodation spans three floors, featuring tastefully decorated, high-quality rooms. Guests can choose between a traditional four-poster bed or a more contemporary version, handcrafted by Cadhay’s furniture-maker owner. Alternatively, you can enjoy the charm of the cosy attic rooms tucked under the eaves.

The Coach House

The Coach House, the largest of three holiday cottages on the Cadhay Estate, offers peaceful countryside views overlooking the main house. It comfortably accommodates six guests in luxury, with three en-suite bedrooms, including a twin room, a double room and a flexible room that can be arranged as either a super king double or a twin. The cottage features a spacious yard and retains its period charm with exposed wooden beams, while being well-furnished with quality antiques, vibrant rugs, interesting paintings and elegant curtains.

The Stables

The Stables, overlooking Cadhay House, opens directly from the kitchen into a walled garden now used as community allotments. It features three bedrooms: one twin room and two flexible rooms (one en-suite) that can be set up as super-king doubles or twin rooms, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The cottage also includes a family bathroom, a downstairs cloakroom and retains its character with exposed beams, quality furniture, antiques, vibrant rugs, interesting paintings and a cosy woodburner, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The well-proportioned kitchen and modern equipment ensure a luxurious holiday experience.

The Cider Press

The Cider Press is a spacious single-storey building offering a light-filled, comfortable stay with either a double or twin bedroom. The cottage provides plenty of room inside, featuring a large lounge with a cosy wood burner, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. With panoramic views of East Hill and the surrounding countryside, the Cider Press is equipped with all modern amenities, including a well-proportioned kitchen/diner, making it an ideal retreat for couples seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway.
