Town Farm is a small collection of stone-built cottages set around a cobbled courtyard, situated in the peaceful countryside on the edge of Sutcombe village in North Devon. Within ten miles of year-round, dog-friendly beaches in both North Devon and North Cornwall, it’s an ideal base for a rural escape. There are two self-catering, dog-friendly properties: The Granary sleeps two and Greystones sleeps four. For larger groups, The Grange combines both cottages via an interconnecting door, offering space for six with two kitchens and living areas - perfect for multi-generational stays.

The Granary

Located on one level above the clome oven room, this characterful retreat features high ceilings, a Velux window and exposed beams that add to its charm. The open-plan living area includes two comfortable sofas, a Smart TV and a folding dining table to maximise space, while the fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing meals using fresh produce from local farm shops. A peaceful bedroom and a luxurious bathroom with a roll-top bath and rainfall shower provide a restful place to unwind after a day of exploring. Outside, guests can enjoy a shared apple orchard, woodland walks, a fire-pit and a barbecue for al fresco dining. The property also offers private parking, easy access to nearby beaches and a shared games barn with table tennis, table football and mini-pool/air hockey.

Greystones

From the moment you arrive, the stylish interiors create a welcoming feel, with a bright modern kitchen leading to a separate dining room. The sitting room features exposed beams, soft furnishings and a stunning fireplace with a woodburner. Large sash windows overlook the garden, offering peaceful views and opportunities to spot local wildlife. Upstairs, the main bedroom is elegantly decorated in soft pastel tones, while the second bedroom, which can be set up as a twin or super-king, enjoys countryside views. A family shower room is also on this floor, ideal after a day at the beach. Outside, the enclosed garden looks out over the woods and is perfect for morning coffee or evening barbecues by the fire-pit. Greystones also offers private parking for two cars, easy access to nearby dog-friendly beaches and a traditional clome oven room with extra storage, laundry facilities, dog crates and even wellies to borrow.

The Grange

The Grange is a spacious holiday home that combines Greystones with The Granary via an interconnecting door, creating a self-contained suite with its own kitchen and living space, perfect for larger families or multi-generational groups. It features three bedrooms, a shower room, a family bathroom, a ground floor cloakroom, a separate kitchen, dining room, sitting room and a second open-plan living area, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind. The Grange enjoys views across the courtyard rooftop and garden, stretching out to the surrounding countryside and open fields.

For Dogs

As dog owners ourselves, we understand what truly dog-friendly means and we’ve made sure our accommodation is just that. We provide plenty of throws for sofas and beds so your dog can enjoy cosy snuggles after a long day, along with a warm outdoor dog shower to rinse off muddy or sandy paws. Our dog welcome pack includes a water bowl, feeding mat, dog towels, poo bags and handmade treats to help your four-legged friend feel right at home. The Orchard is securely stock-fenced with a top rail around 1.1m high and the 'upper wood' with its woodland walk is also fenced, with a top wire at about 0.9m depending on the slope. Greystones’ garden is part hedged with wire and part timber fenced, with the shortest section at 1.2m and an added trellis reaching a total height of 1.5m (5ft), giving you peace of mind while still enjoying views of the woods.

For indoor fun, the games barn offers entertainment for all ages with table football, a mini-pool and air hockey combo and a great selection of board games. For added convenience, we also provide a 7kw EV car charging point on-site.

Town Farm is ideally located for exploring North Devon and Cornwall. Just a short drive away, Holsworthy is perfect for picking up supplies, while the coast offers stunning beaches, surf and scenic walks along the South West Coast Path. Visit charming spots like Clovelly, Boscastle and historic Tintagel, or enjoy outdoor adventures on Dartmoor. With footpaths, a woodland walk and an apple orchard right on the doorstep, it’s also a paradise for dogs.
