Yellowham Farm Bed & Breakfast
Details
Situated on the edge of Yellowham Wood, peace and tranquility are guaranteed at Yellowham Farm Bed & Breakfast. Ideally located for exploring the Jurassic Coast while remaining close to the county town of Dorchester, the property provides a perfect central base for discovering all that Dorset has to offer.
Set back from the main road, the property is secluded along a half-mile private tarmac driveway, hidden beneath the edge of an old oak woodland. The surrounding farm spans 60 acres of grass pastures, home to a small herd of Dexter cattle and a few retired racehorses. Guests will find ample parking in the main yard, with outdoor seating conveniently placed beside the guest rooms, which are directly accessed from the parking area. A woodland garden, accessed by steps away from the car park, offers a peaceful retreat with benches and newly handmade wooden picnic tables.
The adult-only guest rooms are situated apart from the main farmhouse and are all located on the ground floor within a quadrangle. Three standard rooms are positioned along one corridor, while two superior rooms are found in a separate corridor, with a large sun lounge and dining room connecting the two wings. Each room, whether standard or superior, features en-suite facilities. The superior rooms include bathrooms with wall-mounted shower attachments over the bath and a shower screen, offering added comfort and convenience.
Standard rooms overlook a sloping garden area filled with apple trees, wild oregano and natural shrubs, attracting regular visits from rabbits, pheasants and deer. These rooms have newly refurbished en-suite shower rooms and come furnished with a tall boy chest of drawers, two bedside tables, an armchair, a vanity table with chair, and open shelving with hanging space. The superior rooms, more secluded still, are built into the natural banking behind the property. Though their views are limited to trees and plants just outside the windows, they provide a peaceful, restful environment ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. These larger rooms include upgraded bathrooms and Superking divan beds that can be arranged as twins or doubles. Furnishings also include armchairs, bedside tables, vanity tables with drawers, two closed shelved cupboards, and fitted wardrobes.
Two of the standard rooms are dog-friendly, allowing guests to bring their pets along. Dogs can be walked up the private farm track that runs beside the post-and-rail fenced fields, leading from the main drive to the farm buildings, offering a scenic and safe space for exercise.
