Stable Cottage, originally a stable, laundry, hay loft and garage, has been transformed into a charming three-bedroom self-catering retreat, exuding character and warmth throughout. Situated within the grounds of Ashfield House, a stately Georgian property dating back to 1824, Stable Cottage enjoys a tranquil setting amidst extensive gardens. These include a sprawling front lawn with a sweeping driveway, a walled garden, a small wood and a field.

Accommodation inside the cottage includes three bedrooms: a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and views of the outdoor seating area, a second bedroom with bunk beds overlooking the front and a loft bedroom with twin single beds, accessed via stairs from the sitting room (note the low door and ceiling height). The large sitting/dining room boasts French windows opening onto the outdoor seating area and stairs leading up to the loft bedroom. Additional amenities include a well-equipped kitchen with solid wood fittings and a conservatory with bifold doors leading to the outdoor seating area, both featuring underfloor heating. The bathroom offers a bath over shower with underfloor heating as well.

To the rear of the cottage, guests can enjoy a secluded outdoor space equipped with a dining table, benches, recliners, firepit wood-fired pizza oven and grill and the Hikki wood-fired bath, available for an additional fee. Guests have the option to have the bath filled, lit, and heated upon arrival or use a fire-making kit provided by the hosts. Similarly, the pizza oven/grill/fireplace combo offers the opportunity for wood-fired cooking; guests can bring their own logs or purchase a fire-making kit. Outdoor activities include toasting marshmallows and sausages over the firepit or simply relaxing in the fresh air.

The expansive outdoor area around Stable Cottage includes a walled garden, large front lawn, small wood, drying green and a field, inviting guests and their dogs to explore freely. The field provides ample space for stretching legs and allowing dogs off the lead, making it an ideal retreat for both relaxation and outdoor enjoyment.
