Templand Cottages near Thornhill offers superb self catering accommodation. We are close to the River Nith and boast amazing views down the Nith Valley. Our cottages are ideally placed for discovering all that Dumfries & Galloway has to offer.

We have a range of cottages that have been converted from the original 18th Century sandstone farm buildings to provide modern accommodation. You can also book exclusive use of our indoor heated pool, sauna (50p coin required) and outdoor hot tub for an additional fee.

Templand Cottage:

Our cottage sleeps up to 6 people in 1 super king en suite, 1 ground floor twin and 1 small double room. There is a bathroom and shower. Unwind in the open plan lounge/diner. Facilities include a wood-burning stove and TV with Freeview. Doors open to the patio area that comes with a private hot tub to soak yourself in. The kitchen comes well-equipped with an oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, slow cooker and steamer.

Jane Welsh Cottage:

We offer accommodation for up to 4 people in 1 master en suite mezzanine room that can made as a super-king or twin and 1 ground floor super-king/twin room. Downstairs there is a bathroom. The open plan lounge/diner has Freeview TV and patio doors that open to the hot tub. A well-equipped includes an oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, slow cooker and steamer.

Thomas Carlyle:

Our cottage sleeps up to 4 people in 1 master en suite mezzanine room that can be made as a super-king or twin and 1 ground floor /twin room. There is a downstairs bathroom. A well-equipped includes an oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, slow cooker and steamer. Unwind in the open plan lounge/diner that has Freeview TV and patio doors open to the hot tub.

Drumlanrig Cottage:

We offer accommodation for up to 4 people in 1 king and 1 twin room. There is a bathroom with a shower. The lounge/diner has Freeview TV and patio doors that opens to the patio area with a private hot Tub. There are 2 patios in total. A well-equipped kitchen comes with an oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, slow cooker and steamer.

Morton Cottage:

Our cottage sleeps up to 2 people in a king room and the bathroom has a shower over bath. There is an open plan lounge/diner/kitchen. The lounge area has Freeview TV and patio doors that lead to the patio area. There is a private hot tub. A well-equipped kitchen has an oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, slow cooker and steamer.

Dalgarnock Cottage:

We offer accommodation for up to 2 people in a hand carved 4 poster bed. There is a bathroom with a shower over bath. The open lounge/diner has Freeview TV and doors lead to a patio area with a hot tub. The well-equipped kitchen has an oven & hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, slow cooker and steamer.

Our cottages are great for enjoying the rolling countryside, with lots of walking routes available, including the Southern Upland Way. There are over 200 miles of coastline to enjoy, and you can also cycle along the peace roads. Attractions to visit include:
