Finchale Abbey is a family-run touring park set in the heart of the beautiful County Durham countryside. Our park lies within a meander of the River Wear and overlooks the ruins of a Benedictine Priory, ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The peace and tranquillity of our adult-only touring park encourages visitors from all over the world to return time and again and is one of the North East premier residential parks. Well-behaved pets are welcome onto the park both as visitors and residents, dogs must be kept on a lead while on the park.

The park has pitches for touring caravans, with both hard standing and grass pitches available. All of the pitches have electric hook up. You are welcome to have a gazebo as well and the toilets are not too far away. You can also enjoy a touch of luxury by staying in our bespoke handmade glamping pods. Our two pods come with twin single beds, heating, lighting and standard UK plug sockets. The pods also have outdoor furniture, perfect for a morning coffee whilst admiring your surroundings.

The touring park has a well-maintained toilet block which has been recently refurbished to include fully accessible disabled facilities. The toilet block offers free hot showers, WCs and washing up facilities. Razor sockets are provided if required, and hairdryers and hand dryers are available within the block. There is also a disposal point on site for chemical toilet waste.

Onsite fishing is very popular, and permits are available from the site shop. The permit covers fishing along a two-mile stretch of riverbank. Only 13 miles away is the coast.
