Jepcrack's Barns offers wonderful self catering accommodation in Maldon, surrounded by idyllic countryside. Our barns are Essex are the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life.

We have 4 unique properties to choose from. Each property has been finished to a high standard and comes with a range of facilities to suit all your needs. Onsite we have a children’s play area with swings, slides and a climbing frame plus a swing bench. Travel cots and high chairs are available free of charge and a variety of bicycles are available.

Shires Stables – Sleeps 8 -11

Our property was once the stables for the Shire Horses and offers high ceilings, original beams and a brick fireplace, plus modern facilities. Outside there is a private garden and you can soak your troubles away in the hot tub.

The living room has comfy seating, TV, books, games, DVDs, Bluetooth speaker and a large sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range-style cooker with a large hob, 2 ovens and a separate grill. A dining table extends to sit more guests. Downstairs there is an en suite room with two large singles that can be joined to make n emperor-sized bed. Upstairs there are 2 king en suites and a room with 2 cabin style single beds.

Hay Barn – Sleeps 6-9

We offer accommodation for 6-9 people in this 3-bedroom property. The barn has a new hot tub, a toasty wood burner and enjoys countryside views.

The lounge/kitchen/dining area will suit all your needs. The lounge has a huge brick fireplace, 55” smart TV, free WIFI, books, games & DVDs, plus a double sofa bed. The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped and includes pots, pans, crockery, ice bucket, food processor, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and microwave ceramic hob, electric oven, grill and a buffet warmer.

Upstairs there is a king en suite which has a large, fold-away bed. Downstairs the is a double en suite and room with two single beds that can be made as a super king.

Barley Barn – Sleeps 6-9

Our sympathetically renovated barn offers modern furnishings and a private rear garden with a table, chairs and BBQ for al fresco dining.

On the ground floor is an open plan living, kitchen and dining area. The well-equipped kitchen comes with a full-size fridge freezer, electric cooker, induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The master bedroom has a super king antique French bed and en suite facilities. The second bedroom comes with two single beds and a bathroom a walk-in shower. The upstairs bedroom has a king ensuite and a large single fold-away bed.

Cart Lodge – Sleeps 4

We offer accommodation for up to 4 in this one-bedroom barn. Unwind in the hot tub or relax in the sealed garden area that offers farmland views. A pergola with louvred roof plus a table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining.

The living room has come seating, a wood-burning stove, TV, DVD player and a sofa that folds out to a large double bed. A well-equipped kitchen has a range of appliances and the dining table seats 4. French doors offer views of the front lawn. The bedroom comes with an antique French king-size bed and the en suite has a full-size bath with shower above.

Our barns provide a great base for exploring the area. Madison Heights offers monkey puzzle indoor play, a swimming pool, bowling, roller skating and an arcade. You can see 220 species at Colchester Zoo or visit the Tiptree Heath Nature Reserve. Attractions to visit include:
