Lakeview Holiday are 3 self catering apartments, in Cotswold stone house outside of Fairford, Gloucestershire. Our 4 holiday homes are in a lakeside setting and have stunning views of the surrounding countryside and nature that lives in the area.

A superb development of four lakeside properties consisting of one three bedroomed house: Heron & three apartments: Mallard Grebe and Kingfisher all overlooking the large lawn running down to the lake.

Heron is a stunning Cotswold Stone house on the lake side with private decking area running over the water’s edge. The house consists of large lounge/diner with lake and garden views, fully fitted kitchen, and a downstairs cloakroom, upstairs are three bedrooms. The master room has a double bed and an en suite shower room, one twin bedded room and a single room. The bathroom has a corner bath, WC and wash basin. Both bathrooms are fitted with shaver sockets. The main room has two sofas, flat screen TV and occasional furniture, dining table and chairs. The kitchen has a fitted oven and ceramic hob, extractor fan, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. There are ample wall and floor cupboards with all the utensils, cooking pots and pans, crockery and glasses etc. Fire and smoke alarms are fitted. You will find the beds made up with crisp white cotton linen, fluffy towels in the bathrooms and tea towels in the kitchen. The non smoking house is centrally heated with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs, with ample hot water all controlled by thermostat. Outside, accessed from a gate on the decking, is a large lawn area, patio, garden furniture, BBQ and children’s swing set and trampoline.

Mallard Is a sunny south facing two bedroomed upstairs apartment sleeping up to five people within the glorious Cotswold countryside: The large open plan living/kitchen/dining room is furnished with a corner sofa seating five, an extending dining table and chairs, shelving and occasional furniture and a flat screen TV with Free view channels and radio. The kitchen area has ample cupboard space, fridge, ceramic hob, kettle, toaster and large microwave with grill, iron and ironing board. In the cupboards you will find all the usual pans, utensils, crockery and glasses. Please note: there is no oven. The property has two bedrooms sleeping five people. One bedroom has a double bed and the second has a full sized triple bunk with a single bed over a double. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe and drawer space. The windows have blackout blinds. The bathroom has a bath with shower and glass screen, wash basin, WC, heated towel rail and shaver point.

Grebe is a centrally heated, upstairs apartment finished to a high specification sleeping up to four people. It is a south facing, sunny and roomy apartment overlooking the lawn and lake. The kitchen is very well equipped with all you would expect to find. There is a fridge, ceramic hob, a large microwave with grill, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board etc. Please note; there is no oven. Plenty of china, glassware and cutlery, cooking equipment and pots and pans for 4 people. Very well lit with spotlights and a extractor fan and plenty of cupboard storage space. Grebe has plenty of comfortable seating, both for dining in style and relaxing. The large futon in the living area easily converts into a full sized double bed. A large flat screen TV with all the Freeview channels including radio, sitting next to is a large wicker basket to store bedding for the futon. Grebe benefits form smoke and heat alarms for your safety. The bathroom has a washbasin, WC and bath with overhead shower and glass screen, fluffy towels, heated towel rail, plenty of hot water and shaver socket. You will find the comfy beds made up with Egyptian cotton bedding and tea towels in the kitchen area. There is no extra charge for heating or electricity and the radiators are individually controlled by thermostat should it get a little chilly. The view from the windows is across to the lake and dedicated large guests lawn, patio and children’s play area. We have garden furniture for your use and a BBQ is provided (please bring your own charcoal). We are part of the Cotswold Water Park and in an ideal place for exploring all the pretty nearby towns and villages. Near Fairford we are an ideally placed for the Royal Air Tattoo each year.

Kingfisher is a cosy, yet roomy one roomed apartment just for two. Finished to a high specification and reached almost secretly, via a staircase: The apartment is deceptively roomy. The kitchen has a fridge, ceramic hob, toaster, kettle and microwave with grill, iron and ironing board. Note: there is no oven. Very well equipped you will find everything you need within the cupboards. Just in view on the picture is the dining table. The two seater sofa is just the job for viewing the flat screen TV with Freeview and radio stations. There is a comfortable double bed, you can relax here and watch the television if you so wish. Ample wardrobe and drawer space to store all your clothes. The bathroom has wash hand basin, WC and a double sized shower cubicle with sliding glass doors and heated towel rail. You will find the bed made up with high quality Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy towels in the bathroom and tea towels in the kitchen. The property is sunny and south facing with views out on to the lake, holiday guests large lawn area, patio and children’s play equipment. You are welcome to make use of the BBQ (please provide your own charcoal) and garden furniture here or to sit by the water. Kingfisher benefits from central heating and is warm and welcoming, individually thermostatically controlled with ample hot water. Smoke and heat alarms are fitted and a fan for cooking smells.

We hope you find it an ideal base for exploring all the local Cotswold towns and villages. You are welcome to wander around the lakes here, watch and listen to the many birds, swimming on the water and in the trees. We can offer you things to do here on site. There is a dedicated large lawn area for holiday makers with children’s swings and slide set on rubber safety chips, a see saw and trampoline. A large patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue for your use, please bring your own charcoal. The grass runs down to the lake where you can sit and while away the hours if you wish. We offer course and carp fishing here at Whelford Pools on our day ticket lake, there is a charge for this. We also have a tackle and bait shop on site that also sells cold drinks, sweets and snacks. If you want to try your hand at fishing we can kit you out with reasonably priced tackle.

You will find a great many water birds resident here, swans, mallards, great crested grebes, moor hens, coots, herons are all resident with the occasional visit from other types of ducks and geese, with a great many babies to see during the spring and summer. In the garden and grounds and as you stroll around the lakes you will find a great many species of garden birds feeding and nesting and a wealth of flora and fauna.
