Bach Wen is situated on the stunning Llŷn Peninsula, offering breathtaking views over Caernarfon Bay and situated at the edge of Snowdonia National Park. This peaceful family holiday site is owned and managed by a group of friends who enjoy spending their own holidays here.

The site features ten charming cottages, two sea-view glamping pods and three small camping areas, one of which includes an outdoor fridge and power. Bach Wen also boasts a large licensed barn, perfect for weddings, birthday parties, and various events. This versatile space can accommodate up to 180 people (standing) and includes a bar, commercial kitchen and an outdoor seating area with spectacular sea views.

Hayloft

This charming cottage, converted from an old watermill, retains its original exposed stonework. It features a double bedroom with an en suite shower and sea views, an open-plan kitchen diner and a large sea-facing conservatory with panoramic views. The conservatory includes an oak dining table and sofa bed. The cottage also offers a fully enclosed private garden, central heating, a log-burning stove, a TV with DVD player and a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances.

The Mill

This single-level, open-plan cottage, converted from a disused watermill, features original exposed stonework. It has two double bedrooms (one with a four-poster bed and ensuite) and a twin bedroom, all with French windows leading to the garden. The sea-facing conservatory offers stunning bay views, a six-seater dining table and access to a private garden with a patio and picnic bench. The cottage includes central heating, a log-burning stove, a large corner sofa, digital TV, DVD player, a fully equipped kitchen and a utility room with a washing machine.

Stables

This single-level detached cottage features slate floors, white stone walls, and central heating. It has two double bedrooms, a modern shower room, and an oak kitchen with a microwave, oven, hob, fridge with ice-box and washing machine. The lounge includes a sofa bed, dining table, log burning stove and TV. The private fenced garden at the rear is perfect for dog owners, offering direct access to the paddocks and beach and is ideal for observing sunsets.

Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a spacious property featuring a welcoming kitchen, a sea-facing lounge and a hill-facing conservatory with a woodburner. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms: a king, a double and a room with bunks and a pull-out single, plus an optional downstairs double sofa bed. The bathroom with shower and bath is upstairs, with a second toilet downstairs. The conservatory opens to a large garden, and the Farmhouse is furnished in a contemporary style, complementing its stone house surroundings. BT TV and Wi-Fi are included.

The Chapel

The Chapel is a single-level property with central heating and double glazing. It has three bedrooms: a double with a handwash basin, a family room with a double and single bed, and a twin room. The large living and dining area features a Welsh slate floor, log-burning stove, TV, rustic farmhouse table, two sofas, and a bay window with panoramic views over Caernarfon Bay. It includes a fully-fitted galley kitchen with a microwave and dishwasher, a utility room with a fridge, freezer and washing machine, and a fully tiled bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The property also has a private enclosed courtyard.

Granary

This stone cottage has slate floors, wooden beams, central heating, and double glazing. It features two ground-floor bedrooms (one double, one twin) and an upstairs family bedroom with a double and single bed. The first floor includes a bathroom with a roll-top bath and a separate shower room. The living room has two large sofas, a TV, a dining table, a log-burning stove, and bay-view windows. The fully equipped kitchen, with a microwave, oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, leads to a private fenced garden. Dedicated Wi-Fi is included.

Bakery

The Bakery, in one of the farm's oldest parts, offers cosy intimacy for two. It features central heating, double glazing and tiled floors. Original elements like the hearth, chimney, and black beams have been preserved, with a log-burning stove added. The double bedroom overlooks the fields and there is a fully tiled shower room. The kitchen includes a microwave, oven, hob and fridge with icebox. The lounge area has a leather armchair, sofa, and breakfast bar, lit by lanterns and spotlights. Two doors open to a private enclosed garden.

Golan

Golan Cottage has original slate floors downstairs and varnished floorboards upstairs. It features three bedrooms (a double, twin, and single) and a modern bathroom. The open-plan downstairs includes a lounge with TV, dining area and kitchen with a microwave, oven, hob, fridge and washing machine. The cottage offers central heating, double glazing, an inglenook fireplace with a log burner and views of the meadows and hills. It also has a large, private lawned area safe for pets.

Beuno

Beuno, our first accessible property, offers stunning mountain views. It features a new wood burner, two bedrooms (one twin, one double) and an open-plan living room/kitchen area with modern appliances. The enclosed garden has decking leading to a level entrance via French windows.

Boathouse

The Boathouse is a single-level cottage for 2-4 people, featuring a double bedroom and a day room with a privacy curtain that sleeps 1-2. It has a fully equipped galley kitchen, a large shower room and a living room with sea and paddock views, whitewashed stone walls, a wood burner and a high ceiling with window lights. Amenities include a TV and DVD player. Outside, there's an enclosed garden with sea views in front and hills and fields in back.

All of the Cottages

We have private beach access via a sheltered green path, following Nant Bach Wen to the sea. The beach features pebbles, rock pools, and sandy patches at low tide, safe for bathing and fishing. Dog owners can let their pets run on the field between the cottages and the beach, as long as they are supervised. Bach Wen is famous for its stunning sunsets, visible year-round from your sea-view cottage, the front paddock, or the beach. The area also boasts many archaeological sites, including a Neolithic burial chamber just a 10-minute walk across the fields.

The Area

Bach Wen is an ideal base for many local attractions on the Lleyn Peninsula. Along with Caernarfon Castle and Snowdonia National Park, there are also many other places of interest. There is the quaint village of Aberdaron at the end of the peninsula. Trefor (5 minutes drive) has a quiet sandy beach and offers offshore and deep sea fishing trips (boats can also be launched for a fee). Alternatively, there is the Blue Flag accredited beach at Dinas Dingle, which is 10 minutes drive. Golfers can enjoy the splendid links golf course at Nefyn (10 minutes drive), go-karting at Glasfryn, pony-trekking on Cader Idris and Abersoch is famed for its surfing and water sports community. Portmeirion (the classical Italian designed village on the coast) is within 25 minutes drive. There is the Welsh Slate Museum and Lake Railway at Llanberis and the moving and tragic tale of Beddgelert (30 minutes drive).
