Steeped in history, the inn offers cosy accommodation, characterful inglenook fireplaces and a warm, friendly welcome. Guests can enjoy scenic walks along the South Downs Way, and the pub serves a full à la carte menu alongside lighter meal options. Dogs are welcome in both the bar and patio areas, making it a perfect stop for walkers and dog lovers alike.

We offer five en-suite guest rooms: one classic twin, two classic doubles, one superior double, and one superior super-king, all available for single occupancy. Each room includes a choice of complimentary continental or cooked breakfast, hypoallergenic pillows, a flat-screen TV with Freeview, tea and coffee making facilities, free Wi-Fi, complimentary bottled water, toiletries, and fresh linen. Hairdryers and ironing boards are available on request.

At Ye Olde George we pride ourselves on serving the highest quality food, prepared by chefs with a passion for taste.

We are committed to using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, taking full advantage of the rich supply of free-range and organic produce available in the heart of Hampshire. Our menu changes regularly to reflect the best of each season’s offerings. Nearly all dishes are prepared on-site by our dedicated kitchen team, with the exception of our handmade ice cream, which comes from Forest of Bere Dairy, a nearby farm that also supplies our fresh dairy products and Caroline's Dairy in West Sussex. Our fresh crab is hand-picked by local fisherman Shaun from Selsey and we feature locally produced cheeses throughout our menu. Our sausages are handcrafted to our own recipe by an award-winning local butcher, who also supplies our beef. For added depth of flavour, we use traditional cooking methods, including roasting veal bones to create the jus for many of our meat dishes.

Long regarded as one of the loveliest places in the valley of the River Meon, the village of East Meon boasts a Norman church with a remarkable 12th-century marble font and an impressive 15th-century Courthouse.
