By The Wye
Details
Our glamping holiday accommodation, By the Wye, is situated on the border between mid Wales and Herefordshire, hidden in the heart of Hay on Wye. Elevated in clearings among the trees along the banks of the River Wye, you'll find our luxurious treetop Safari Tent accommodation. This off-grid woodland retreat is perched on platforms, hovering above the forest floor. Relax on your deck with the gentle sound of the River Wye below and the vast, starry skies of the Brecon Beacons Dark Sky Reserve above.
The glamping experience at By the Wye is as stunning as its riverside setting. Our thoughtfully positioned Safari Tents are elevated on stilts, allowing you to sleep among the treetops. We combine the rustic, eco-friendly charm of a campsite with the luxury of a boutique hotel and the comforts of home, all under canvas. Please note that, as a peaceful woodland escape, By the Wye does not accept bookings for parties or hen/stag do’s. The woods are home to badgers, foxes, otters, and abundant birdlife, which is why we do not allow dogs on the property.
Each eco-friendly glamping tent features its own en-suite bathroom, complete with hot running water, a flushing toilet, a basin and a power shower. Our treetop glamping site offers luxury accommodation under canvas, with all the comforts you need and the wilderness right at your doorstep. Come stay with us and escape from the world.
Guests at By the Wye already experience the benefits of Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku), immersing themselves in nature and fully absorbing the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations around them. Now, you can elevate your outdoor experience with our new woodland wellness facilities.
Our romantic couples’ safari tent, The Cwtch, is now equipped with a panoramic cedar barrel wood-fired sauna on the lower deck. This sauna hovers above the woodland floor, offering breathtaking views of the River Wye through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. Picture yourself relaxing in the warmth of your private sauna, listening to the soft crackle of the fire, and watching kingfishers, herons, and the occasional otter pass by. For wellness enthusiasts, this will be a truly unique sauna experience.
The rear deck of the Holly safari tent has been transformed into a tranquil retreat. In this secluded woodland clearing, you’ll find a rainfall shower nestled beneath the trees, deckchairs perfect for relaxing with a good book, and a dreamy outdoor bath where you can unwind in the evening, soaking in the peaceful surroundings.
