Our Highland cottage is in a niche market since it accommodates comfortably couples, especially birdwatchers, skiers, walkers, and families with two young children. We do not allow dogs because of the cottage size.

The cottage is regarded as quite unique, built-in 1920, of wooden construction, cosy in winter and cool in summer, totally refurbished, electrically eco-heated with woodstove available, and insulated to contemporary standards with full facilities for self-catering, sited on a private road in a hamlet within walking distance of Boat of Garten, some six miles north of Aviemore.

Our traditional and fully insulated timber cottage is perfect for a tranquil getaway in a great location. Inside there is a wood-burning stove for those chill days and controllable modern electric heating. Unwind in the open lounge/dining area after a day sightseeing. Enjoy some home cooking in the fully equipped kitchen that comes with a range of appliances.

Two bedrooms are available, 1 double and 1 twin room. Both rooms share a bathroom with a full-size bath and a powerful shower over bath.

Facilities include a large fridge freezer, washer dryer, dishwasher, microwave, TV/DVD and Hi-fi.

Outside there is a south-facing raised deck area with seating and a garden, offering a great spot for a glass of wine in the evening sun. There is off road parking for two cars and there is separate storage for bicycles, skis and golf equipment in the provided shed.

There are lots of good, easy walks available from the cottage itself and we are less than 1 mile from the delightful village of Boat of Garten, home to a local shop and post office, bike hire, hotel and restaurant. Less than 6 miles away in Aviemore, there are well-stocked supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and a railway station. The local area has lots of heather-clad hills and woodland, perfect for scenic walk, all of the attractions in the National Park are within easy reach by car. Attractions to visit include:
