Point Clair House
Details
Point Clair House is a luxuriously renovated country house set on a private four-acre peninsula stretching into Loch Ness in Scotland.
As you step inside for the first time, you’ll immediately feel at home. This self-catering cottage is filled with unexpected treasures, from quirky antiques like lights salvaged from a ship in Cornwall to an enormous custom-made dining table from Denmark. When the evenings turn cold, the wood burner can be loaded with logs from the salvaged whisky crates under the workbench.
Start your day in the breakfast room, cosy up by the fire in the living room, compete in the games room, or immerse yourself in a film in the impressive cinema room. The downstairs of Point Clair House is designed for comfort and entertainment.
After a long walk, stow your muddy boots in wicker baskets beneath a century-old pew brought up from Bognor Regis and slip into the brand-new slippers provided for you.
The upstairs area of Point Clair House epitomizes luxury self-catering. It includes a master bedroom, five additional bedrooms, and a family bathroom. Luxurious beds custom-made in the Cotswolds, each with a zero-gravity foam mattress and a choice of pillows, await you at the end of the day. Each room also has its own bathrobe and binoculars for wildlife watching, while the bathrooms are stocked with luxury hand wash and creams.
Step outside into four acres of private gardens with 200-year-old oak trees, benches for admiring the view, and custom-made swings. Enjoy a late-night campfire or retreat to the purpose-built BBQ hut in typical Scottish weather. Take a stroll to the beach and enjoy a barbecue at the loch’s edge with a ready-made campfire spot.
Immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of the private grounds, where your only visitors will be curious squirrels, pine martens, and bunnies.
Conveniently located between the villages of Fort Augustus and Drumnadrochit, Point Clair House offers plenty to do in Loch Ness. Fort Augustus, a six-minute drive south, is the starting point for the Nessie boat tour and features pubs, gift shops, grocery stores, and a scenic 9-hole golf course. Drumnadrochit, a 15-minute drive north, is home to the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition, as well as excellent pubs, takeaways, cafes, a Co-op store, pharmacy, and whisky shop.
