Ballakerkey Cottage offers wonderful self catering accommodation in Glen Maye near Peel. Nestled within 40 acres of farmland, we are ideal for a tranquil holiday on the Isle of Man.
Ballakerkey Cottage is a newly renovated Manx cottage comprising of one double bedroom and one single bedroom, each with luxury en suite shower rooms, fitted wardrobes and exposed A'frames. Downstairs the cottage comprises porch and entrance hall, leading off to the kitchen and lounge.
The kitchen is fully fitted with oak units, granite worktops, a Belfast sink and all appliances, including ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, washer dryer, dining table and chairs. The lounge features a large traditional Manx fireplace with wood burning stove, tiled floors with rugs leather sofa, TV/DVD player and CD player. The cottage is centrally heated with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs.
Outside the cottage is surrounded by large lawned and gravelled gardens and parking for 2 cars, garden furniture and BBQ.
We also offer accommodation in the Guest Wing, a private annex within our farmhouse. The property sleeps 2 to 3 people and comes with its own entrance. The dining/kitchenette comes with a dishwasher, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave small dining table and chairs. A private staircase leads to a large double/triple bedroom with a sofa, fitted wardrobe and en suite shower room.
Glen Maye is a haven for those who like to be out and about. The Glen itself boasts a breathtaking waterfall and atmospheric walks and our farmland leads onto the "Way of the gull," a spectacular coastal footpath that runs around the entire Island. It is an ideal base to explore the Islands rich heritage. Within a five minute drive you can visit the coastal town of Peel with its lovely fishing harbour, spectacular castle and award winning museum, St. Johns, the seat of our ancient government and Niarbyl coastal visitor centre, for spectacular sunsets and views, and lovely afternoon teas!
The coastal town of Peel is dominated by the fabulous 11th Century Peel Castle located on St Patricks Isle. Peel is a lovely traditional Manx town with narrow streets, shops, restaurants, fascinating harbour large sandy beach and new swimming pool. Donít miss the wonderful sunsets!
