Named in honour of the 1745 rebellion's heroine, Flora Macdonald, our hostel has been a beacon for travellers exploring the Sleat peninsula and Skye for over two decades. Situated in the charming village of Kilmore, just a stone's throw from the Armadale ferry, we're a quaint, independent hostel that prides itself on offering a traditional stay. While we may be an hour's drive from Portree, the island's main village, the awe-inspiring views of the Knoydart mountains across the mainland compensate beautifully. Our village may lack pubs and shops, but the serenity, coupled with the melodious bird calls and breathtaking scenery, promises an unforgettable Skye experience.

We cater to a variety of group sizes with private budget accommodations ranging from two to six guests and even welcome groups of up to 20. Our smaller rooms, situated in a wooden chalet, offer shared bathroom and kitchen facilities, while our larger rooms in the main building come with en-suite bathrooms. Both kitchens are fully equipped, including essentials like sugar, tea, coffee, as well as oil, salt and pepper, ensuring you're well-prepared for your stay. Our hostel boasts a warm common area, perfect for enjoying the sunset over the mountains by the fire, diving into a book from our swap collection, or engaging in a competitive game of Scrabble among many other games available. Our Eriskay ponies are a delight, always eager for attention and treats like carrots or apples and you might even spot some deer!

Just half a mile from the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig Gaelic College, a 10-minute walk allows easy access to summer performances and the opportunity to participate in Gaelic language and arts courses. The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, offering attractions like the Point of Sleat lighthouse, Camas Daraich beach, Sleat's forests and the geological wonders at Ord, not to mention the Torabhaig distillery, a recent addition.
