Once the stone gatehouse for the Duke of Argyll’s shooting lodge, Ardfenaig Lodge has been lovingly renovated and extended to accommodate six guests as a luxurious self-catering cottage. With great attention to detail and a passion for preserving its original features, this cottage promises a comfortable and memorable stay on the enchanting Isle of Mull.

Set along the shore of Loch Caol amidst 30 acres of forest, lawn, garden, and moorland, the Lodge is enveloped by natural beauty, abundant wildlife and a variety of bird species. A large deck overlooking Loch Caol invites you to linger and marvel at the quality of the light and the tranquil surroundings. A picnic table for al fresco dining sits at the center of the deck, which is accessible from a sunroom with floor-to-ceiling windows and two comfortable club chairs, perfect for reading or enjoying the view. The dining area in the sunroom opens onto the kitchen, which features a Rangemaster Classic range cooker and all the essentials for preparing hearty Highland fare after a day of walking, exploring, or relaxing.

The heart of the cottage is the spacious yet cosy sitting room, furnished with antiques and chairs and a sofa upholstered in Ralph Lauren fabrics. A stone fireplace with a multi-fuel stove extends to the vaulted and beamed ceiling. The sitting room also includes a large flat-screen television with SKY TV and a DVD player. On the ground floor, there are two en suite bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and the other with twin beds. Upstairs, another bedroom features two single built-in beds (one 2’6” wide and the other 3’) and an en suite shower room. Hair dryers are provided in all bedrooms. Additionally, a laundry room with a washer, dryer, airer, small Belfast sink and toilet is located on the ground floor. Wi-Fi broadband is available throughout the Lodge.
