Brescalan Cottage is a traditional self-catering holiday home in the Crofting community of Borve, near Portree on the Isle of Skye, accommodating up to six guests. It enjoys a central location with panoramic westward views over Snizort and direct access to the Trotternish Ridge, making it an ideal base for exploration.

Our cottage provides comfortable self catering holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. While the character of the original croft has been retained, the interior has been furnished with modern comforts in mind. It has full electric heating throughout and is fully double glazed. You will be greeted with a welcome basket and logs and for Christmas we decorate, provide a real tree and a seasonal welcome basket.

The spacious lounge is comfortably furnished, has a flat screened TV, DVD, CD, iPod docking station and radio. There is a selection of DVD’s, books and games. The room also has the added feature of a wood burning stove and we provide an initial supply of logs.

A modern spacious dining kitchen includes a full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ceramic hob, double oven, microwave and toaster. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in a separate utility room adjacent to the rear entrance hall.

The master bedroom on the ground floor has a king size bed. It has direct access to a large en suite shower room which includes facilities for those with physical disabilities and is suitable for wheelchair users.

One double and one twin bedroom are located upstairs. A full bathroom with over bath shower is set between the two upstairs bedrooms

Outside there are spacious gardens with a picnic bench, perfect for dining alfresco. We also have ample parking for up to 5 cars.

For those based at Brescalan Cottage the Isle of Skye and surrounding area offers a wide range of activities to meet most requirement, from gentle walks, sightseeing, fishing, boat trips to more strenuous activities such as golf, pony trekking and climbing.

It is less than a 5 mile drive to Portree the main town of the Island which has many good quality restaurants, pubs, shopping and entertainment facilities including a small Cinema and during the school holiday period, use of the modern swimming pool within Portree High School.
