Wild Woodland Retreat offers glamping accommodation in Elham near Canterbury. Situated in a countryside setting on a family farm in Kent, we are the ultimate rural retreat. Come & stay in one of our shepherd's huts or choose camping in one of our five pitches.

The Valley Shepherd Hut and Woodland Shepherd Hut have been thoughtfully designed, each hut features a hand-built bespoke kitchenette, a composting toilet and a spacious shower. Hot water, a gas hob and an oven provide essential cooking facilities, while LED lighting and the fridge are powered by solar energy. A cosy wood burner, with all wood supplied, ensures warmth and comfort throughout your stay.

Designed for those seeking a peaceful, off-grid retreat, the huts are set in a secluded location, half a km from the nearest road or dwelling. The Valley Hut is surrounded by calcareous grassland, home to a variety of wildflowers, including orchids, bluebells and cowslips, with the wild broom blooming a stunning yellow in May. Each hut is equipped with a gas hob, an oven with a grill and a fridge, all running on 12V solar power. For convenience, 12V sockets are available for charging devices, making this an ideal escape for those looking to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature.

The Valley Shepherd Hut comfortably accommodates two adults and one child on an inflatable mattress. Guests can unwind while taking in the stunning views and enjoying the sounds of skylarks and buzzards soaring overhead. You can bring a tent for children if you wish.

The Woodland Shepherd Hut is situated in a sunlit glade surrounded by mature oak trees, offering a peaceful retreat in nature. In spring, the woodland floor bursts into colour with carpets of anemones, orchids, primroses and bluebells. The hut comfortably sleeps two adults and up to two young children on inflatable mattresses stored beneath the bed, with the option to bring a tent for additional sleeping space.

Dogs are warmly welcomed (max 3) in either shepherd's hut and will love exploring the beautiful walking trails surrounding the hut.

Guests will receive half a litre of milk or a dairy-free alternative, along with a selection of teas, filter coffee, muesli, cornflakes and individual packets of porridge for a convenient and comforting start to their stay.

We also offer five spacious camping pitches, ideal for families or couples, with a maximum of two adults per pitch. Our site welcomes tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans (larger vehicles are accommodated in the valley area only). Unlike traditional campsites, we provide a more secluded and immersive experience, with a vast open space and only a handful of pitches. This creates the feel of wild camping while still offering essential amenities, including standpipes, composting toilets and high-quality showers.

Goat walking is available to anyone wishing to experience the fun as well as our glamping guests.
