The Crown Inn offers delicious cuisine and charming accommodation in Groombridge. Our family-run free house near Tunbridge Wells is one of the oldest pubs in the region and ideally placed for discovering all that Kent has to offer.

Our 16th Century pub offers lots of history and was once the headquarters of the Groombridge Gang headquarters. The pub now offers a lovely spot for a drink or two with friends or family. Features include low beams and an inglenook fireplace. We also had a few famous faces visit over the years, including Keira Knightley, Hayley Westernra and Jamies Oliver.

We have 4 wooden beamed rooms to stay in, including a family double, double, twin and single room. All the rooms include wash basins and tea and coffee-making facilities. The bathroom is on the same level as the other bedrooms. Breakfast is included in the price.

Our beamed restaurant offers a log fire and traditional cuisines, with a set menu and daily specials board offering something for everyone. On Sundays, we serve a tasty roast. You can also dine in the bar or snug, whilst the Smugglers Room is perfect for a special occasion.

The bar offers a range of wines, bottles beers, local ales, Guinness and much more. Outside we have a beer garden and patio area for a drink in the sunshine.

We can also cater for weddings, receptions, anniversaries and birthdays – please enquire for details.

Our inn is close to Groombridge Place, famous for its Enchanted Forest and gardens. Ashdown Forest is a short drive away and great for horse riding, cycling and walking. You can see stately homes and castles including Leeds Castle and Chartwell. Attractions to visit include:
