The Chequers Inn is set in the award-winning village of Smarden, widely regarded as one of the most picturesque and atmospheric villages in Kent. The Chequers Inn offers a collection of individually designed bedrooms set within its historic 14th-century coaching inn, each combining character features with modern comforts. Rooms are available as doubles, twins, family rooms and a single, many with flexible bed configurations to suit different guests. Several rooms are located in the oldest part of the building, showcasing original wooden beams, while others feature distinctive touches such as copper or brass baths, cosy seating areas or views over the village, garden or church.

All rooms include en-suite facilities, typically with walk-in showers and, in some cases, baths, along with amenities such as tea and coffee making facilities, TVs, toiletries and hairdryers. A family room provides additional space for those travelling with children, while a ground-floor-style layout is available in some areas of the inn.
