Gorton House & Cottages near Lasswade offers superb self catering accommodation in an array of properties. We are near Scotland's famous capital of Edinburgh and offer amazing views of the Pentland Hills, perfect for a memorable group holiday in the country.

East House: This wonderful property sleeps 6 people in 2 twin rooms and 1 double room. The rooms share a shower room and bathroom. The 17th Century house maintains many original features whilst offering modern accommodation. A lovely sitting room comes with a toasty wood burner for those chilly dates and a well-equipped kitchen is perfect for home-cooking.

Gorton House:Our gorgeous 5-bedroom property dates from the 17th Century and offers everything you need for a relaxing stay in a peaceful location. Fabulous features include a master bedroom with a bay window that offers outstanding views of Roslin Glen. There are also magnificent log-burning stoves and a striking staircase. The house can be combined with Gorton House for larger groups or family gatherings.

Orchard Cottages: We have 3 delightful holiday cottages which are brimming with character and boast glorious south-facing views onto The Walled Garden. Each cottage sleeps 4 in a double and twin room, whilst the cosy living area includes a flat-screen TV and comfy seating. Outside each cottage there is a large garden, offering a great place for a coffee in the morning sun.

Stable Cottage: This superb property was originally the stables to Gorton House and has now been beautifully converted to offer high-quality accommodation. The cottage sleeps 2 in a king room which has patio doors that open into the garden. There is a shower room and a lovely sitting room offers fantastic views over the fields towards the Pentland Hills.

Edinburgh's famous Prince's Street and Edinburgh Castle are only 20 minutes drive away and the city provides all the attractions expected from Scotland's capital, yet within 5 miles of the rural setting of these holiday cottages are the sporting facilities of 8 golf courses, river and loch fishing, pony trekking, a dry-ski slope and 3 leisure centres with swimming pools.

The Penicuik to Dalkeith walk/cycle track passes the gates of Gorton House, while the Pentland Hills Regional Park provides the backdrop and is readily accessible. We are also ideally placed for the Scottish Golf Open just 20 minutes away by car.
