Penylan Farm Cottages
Details
Penylan Farm Cottages are a collection of rustic self-catering holiday cottages situated between Monmouth and Abergavenny, offering panoramic views across the Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Spend your holiday on our peaceful hilltop farm, just ten minutes and wake up to the sound of birdsong, breathe in the fresh Welsh air, and explore scenic local walks with stunning panoramic views. Situated on a small working farm dedicated to environmental stewardship, it's the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature.
Each of our cottages has been individually converted to a high standard, featuring plump down duvets, Egyptian cotton bedding, Welsh wool blankets, original oak beams and underfloor heating to make your stay extra special. Set around a courtyard, each cottage also has its own adjoining south-facing patio, perfect for soaking up the sun. Inside, you'll find well-equipped kitchens, flatscreen TVs with DVD players, city-speed Wi-Fi, dishwashers and plenty of upmarket country charm. From the moment you arrive, you'll feel right at home and we're always on hand to offer local knowledge or help with any extras you may need.
The Mill
The Mill is a luxury split-level conversion for two, elegantly furnished with a calming colour palette and natural materials. Its unique upside-down layout features a king-size bedroom with en suite on the ground floor, accessed via a small entrance hall, and opening onto a private south-westerly patio, ideal for evening meals and sundowners beneath the plum tree. Upstairs, stairs lead to a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and living area, where large windows and a Juliet door offer beautiful views over the fields, creating the perfect spot to unwind with your favourite drink while dinner simmers nearby.
Ciderhouse
Originally built in the early 1800s as a cart shed, Ciderhouse Cottage has been thoughtfully converted into a spacious holiday home featuring an open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, complete with a gas wood burner for cosy winter stays. The cottage offers three bedrooms, including a ground floor master bedroom with both a double and single bed, along with a generous walk-in wet room en suite. An additional twin bedroom on the ground floor and another twin tucked into the eaves on the first floor allow Ciderhouse to comfortably sleep six plus an infant. Outside, guests can enjoy their own private courtyard patio beside the farm's old cider press.
Beili Stable
Beili is a spacious, ground-floor barn conversion featuring two en-suite bedrooms and a bright open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area that opens up to stunning views across the valley. Perfect for all seasons, it boasts a private south-facing patio for warm summer evenings, while a cosy woodburner and underfloor heating provide comfort after a day of hiking the nearby trails. Accommodating four guests, Beili offers a king-size master bedroom with a bath and shower en suite, and a twin room with its own shower en suite.
