Dating back to the12th century, Werngochlyn Farm offers superb accommodation just 3 miles from the historic market town of Abergavenny. Our cottages are nestled on a small farm in the middle of beautiful countryside with the Skirrid Mountain offering a wonderful scenic backdrop. (The farm was heavily featured in the last series of Netfilix’ “Sex Education” which used us as a location.) The Dark Skies and birdlife are an added bonus.

The four cottages which are set around the Farmyard offer everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Sleeping between 4-6, they have been beautifully converted from old stone farm buildings with stone walls and open beams. They truly are the ultimate rural retreat with an open stream flowing into the duckpond and footpaths running right from our doorstep and a picnic area set amongst the trees. All have cosy living/dining areas, well-equipped kitchens and comfortable bedrooms with parking right outside – and plenty of green outside space to let off steam or to eat out with a BBQ.

Granary Cottage (sleeps 6) with a double and two twin-bedded rooms, a separate bathroom and shower room, the roomy sitting room/dining area has a log burning stove. The largest of our cottages and a good base for families taking other cottages too, and it has it’s own enclosed garden.

Stable, Cowshed and Dairy Cottages are in a line of 3 opening onto a shared communal garden with benches and chairs to sit out.

Stable Cottage (sleeps 5) with a double and triple bedrooms, a bathroom with an electric power show over the bath and a kitchen leading from the sitting/dining room.

Cowshed Cottage in the middle (sleeps 4) with bunk beds in the 2nd bedroom is the smallest of our cottages. A ramp to the front door enables wheelchair access, internally it has only one small step as is set on one level. Again with power shower over the bath and kitchen leading from the living area.

Dairy Cottage is the first cottage you come to as you approach the farm, with distinctive arched windows - that used to house our bull! (sleeps 4) With a double room and twin-bedded room, electric shower over the bath, and the modern, integrated kitchen runs off the light and roomy living area with a log burning stove, and exposed beams.

You really don’t need to go anywhere at all as there is an indoor swimming pool and hot-tub, a games room with pool and ping pong, and a play area for smaller children …. and a shared laundry room! We have a livery yard on site – so lots of horses and ponies about, as well as sheep, a goat, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats.

But it is an ideal base to explore the local vicinity – footpaths running directly from the farm and an 18 hole golf course and driving range is only ½ mile away. Slightly further afield are the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, Castles, Canals, Rivers, Mountains, the Big Pit, Waterfalls, Climbing Centres, Bike Parks, Vineyards, Farm parks , Wild Swimming, Art Galleries…….and of course, some really good places to eat out – with a Michelin star restaurant just a walk away over the fields.

And so close to Abergavenny with its individual shops, market, castle, museum, cinema, theatre and much, much more.
