Doune Cottage is a charming, well-equipped and cosy self-catering holiday home situated in the heart of the historic fishing village of Findhorn. Over 150 years old, this traditional stone-walled, slate-roofed semi-detached cottage is tucked away on a quiet lane in the center of the village. Recently renovated and tastefully updated to a high standard, Doune Cottage offers modern comforts while maintaining its welcoming atmosphere.

The spacious, modern kitchen features hard floors and is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and fridge-freezer. A dining area by the window captures the morning light, with an extendable table perfect for meals. A wood-burning stove and a Norwegian tub chair add warmth and character to the space. The shower room is fitted with a wash hand basin, heated towel rail, toilet and shower.

The carpeted entrance hall offers convenient hanging space for coats and jackets. The lounge, styled with Scandinavian furniture, provides a comfortable space to relax, complete with a second wood-burning stove.

The cottage features two south-facing bedrooms with stained wooden floors. The first bedroom has a European-sized double bed and the second has two single beds. Both rooms benefit from ample cupboard and hanging space, as well as plenty of natural light.

Outside, there is a small garden directly in front of the cottage, along with a patio area furnished with a table and seating for outdoor enjoyment. Across the lane, a second small garden adds to the charm. The light and airy porch also provides a sheltered seating or storage area.

Due to its historic design, the cottage is not suitable for disabled access, and pets are not allowed to ensure the comfort of guests with allergies. You can pull up to the front door for loading and unloading, though parking is available on the street. Please note that mobile phone reception in the village may be patchy.
