Sleeps: 1 to 2

Details

Shepherds View and Shepherds Delight are our two self-catering shepherds huts located on a working smallholding at Friends Farm in Alburgh, Norfolk. They are fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Whether you're looking for a romantic countryside getaway or a weekend of birdwatching and walking in the Waveney Valley, our huts are available for rent year-round. Each hut features wood-burning stoves and double glazing to ensure a warm and cosy stay.

Handmade by the owners, our luxury huts are designed to combine function with comfort. You'll find a fully fitted bespoke kitchen equipped with a hob, microwave/combi oven, fridge and dishwasher. To keep you warm, there's a log burner with logs included and double glazing and insulation throughout.

The comfortable double bed easily folds up into the wall with all the bed linen in place, providing plenty of daytime space. In the evening, simply pull it down and fall into bed. When the bed is up, the gate leg table can be pulled up for breakfast. The convenient en-suite bathroom includes a mains toilet, basin and shower with plenty of hot water.

As a guest, you have use of the entire shepherds hut, your own outdoor deck with bistro table and chairs and shared use of the small, gated paddock where the huts are situated. The two huts offer stunning countryside views overlooking fields with sheep, horses, pigs and chickens. While sitting on the deck, you can often see a variety of wildlife, including deer, hares, barn owls, buzzards, pheasants, partridges and more. Relax on the deck and enjoy one of Norfolk's amazing sunsets.

Located on the edge of the Waveney Valley near the Norfolk/Suffolk border, the peaceful village of Alburgh is ideal for walkers, runners, birdwatchers, artists, cyclists, or anyone looking to escape the city for some fresh air. The nearest small towns, Harleston and Bungay, offer independent shops, pubs, cafes, and restaurants. A bit further afield, you can explore Diss, Beccles (the start of the Norfolk Broads), Halesworth, Framlingham (with its famous castle), and the historic county town of Norwich, just half an hour away.

Max of 2 dogs welcome per hut, £10 per dog, per night.

Rates: From £98 per night, minimum 2 night stay.
