Get Away Hide Away is a small, family-built and run glamping site situated in the peaceful Norfolk countryside, within the quiet hamlet of Elsing. Surrounded by nature, it offers a tranquil escape for those looking to relax and unwind. The site features two lovingly restored wooden horse lorries, thoughtfully converted into cosy and unique hideaways. Designed with care and character, they provide a comfortable and memorable stay for couples and families wanting to enjoy the beauty of their natural surroundings.
Douglas
Douglas is a beautifully restored 1967 Bedford horse lorry, transformed into a unique off-grid eco retreat set within half an acre of wild Norfolk countryside. Designed to immerse guests in nature, it features a cosy living space with a well-equipped kitchen, wood burner for cooler evenings and a super king bed tucked above the cab, along with additional sleeping options. Outside, a private shower, compost toilet, decking area and fire pit create the perfect setting for relaxed outdoor living and al fresco dining, while solar power provides lighting and essentials. Surrounded by wildlife such as deer, hares and birds of prey, it offers a peaceful and memorable escape for couples or small families.
Dixie
Dixie is a characterful, repurposed horse lorry set within its own half-acre wildflower meadow, offering a unique off-grid escape surrounded by ever-changing wildlife. Thoughtfully designed across multiple levels, it features spacious decking areas for relaxing and taking in the views, a cosy interior with a well-equipped kitchen, sofa bed and wood burner, and a king-size bed accessed via a ladder. Outside, guests can enjoy a private walk-in shower, compost toilet and a large fire pit with seating and cooking facilities, while subtle lighting and handcrafted details throughout create a warm and memorable stay immersed in nature.
You can also enjoy exclusive use of the entire site, with space for up to four additional tents, accommodating as many as 14 guests and six cars. Set within two acres of wild meadow in the Norfolk countryside, it provides the perfect setting for a relaxed family gathering or a memorable getaway with friends.
Set in a peaceful rural location, the site is rich in wildlife, with wildflower meadows alive with bees, butterflies and a wide variety of insects. Guests may spot birds of prey such as kestrels, buzzards and red kites overhead, while owls can sometimes be seen hunting at dusk during the summer months. Although rarely seen in person, badgers also inhabit the grounds and are known to emerge at night, adding to the sense of being immersed in a truly natural environment.

Peaseland Green, near Dereham, is ideally placed for exploring the heart of Norfolk. The nearby market town of Dereham offers shops, cafés and access to the Mid-Norfolk Railway, where you can enjoy heritage steam train journeys through the countryside. For history and grandeur, Holkham Hall and Sandringham Estate are both within easy reach, offering stunning grounds and stately homes to explore. Nature lovers can head to The Broads National Park for boating and wildlife, or visit the beautiful North Norfolk coast, known for its wide sandy beaches and charming seaside villages.
