Number 4 Salt Lake Cottages is a self-catering cottage, one of a row of six Settle-Carlisle Railway cottages, situated at the heart of the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage is in open countryside with spectacular views over the surrounding limestone scenery. It is a short distance from Ribblehead Station and the famous landmark, the Ribblehead viaduct. It also has easy access to the Ingleborough National Nature Reserve, making it ideal for botanists and naturalists, as well as railway enthusiasts and walkers. The Pennine Way passes close by and there are many walks, easy and more strenuous, from the cottage.

This is a well-equipped cottage, traditionally and comfortably furnished. It is close to Ingleton with its magnificent waterfalls and Britain’s biggest show cave, and to the attractive market towns of Settle and Hawes. It is a good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, the South Lakes and Morecambe Bay, or taking a trip north on the scenic Settle Carlisle Railway to Appleby and Carlisle

• Storage heaters in hall and on landing.

• Open fire central heating; electric radiator in sitting room.

• Fuel and power supplied.

• Beds supplied with mattress cover, pillows, duvet and blanket; guests must bring own bedlinen (sheet, duvet cover and pillowslips) and towels.

• Large south east facing garden, the lower part managed as a flower meadow; terrace with garden furniture.

• Yard and outhouse to the rear.

• Filtered water supply from a borehole serving the row of cottages.

• Parking for one car.

• Dogs welcome by arrangement.

• Price Range: £350 - £500 per week (Saturday to Saturday; other periods by arrangement.
