Flaxton Meadows is set in the scenic North Yorkshire countryside, known for its wildlife and beautiful landscapes. Surrounded by rolling farmland and heathland, it’s just 8 miles from York city centre and close to attractions like Castle Howard, the North York Moors, Helmsley, Scarborough and the east coast. Offering a peaceful retreat in nature, it’s also conveniently near a variety of amenities. Guests can choose from handcrafted luxury log cabins made by skilled joiners or touring and motorhome pitches with natural screening and electric. Please note: Caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and tents are for adults only.

Luxury Log Cabins

All our luxury log cabins feature a private hot tub and are handcrafted by our skilled joiners. Using high-quality recycled materials or locally sourced sustainable resources, each cabin combines craftsmanship with eco-friendliness. The cabins are heated by a British-made Kensa Group system with underground pipes and pumps, offering thermostat control and a constant supply of hot water. Stylishly decorated and furnished with locally sourced pieces, the cabins provide a lavish and comfortable retreat. Each cabin sleeps 4 adults and 2 children. While we are a pet-friendly site, puppies and cats are not permitted in the cabins due to contractual agreements with our partners.

Touring Pitches

Flaxton Meadows welcomes touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents with spacious hard-standing pitches. Each pitch includes access to electricity generated from our onsite natural resource system and water, ensuring a comfortable and eco-friendly stay at our caravan site in York.

Onsite Facilities

Guests have 24-hour access to our modern washroom and toilet facilities, featuring thermostatically controlled hot water and underfloor heating powered by onsite natural resources. The roof provides shelter and natural ventilation, maintaining a comfortable temperature year-round. The fully accessible facilities include child-friendly showers, shaving points, hair dryers, hand dryers and baby changing stations.

Gather with friends and family to relax and enjoy the abundant wildlife at Flaxton Meadows in our Champers for Campers bar. The bar offers refreshments, snacks, and live top sports entertainment for those who want to watch.

Relax and savour a delicious Flaxtonia pizza in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside. Our pizza van serves freshly made pizzas and chips daily from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, except on Mondays. To order, simply visit the bar to place and pay for your order.

Our eco-friendly laundrette, designed for low energy and water consumption, is available to all guests 24 hours a day. In keeping with Flaxton Meadows' commitment to sustainability, the appliances are environmentally considerate, with electricity generated onsite via solar panels and water filtered and recycled on the grounds. Machines require £1 coins, and guests are asked to bring their own washing powder.

We are fortunate to have an abundance of flora and fauna, so we've created a delightful nature trail for children and nature lovers to explore. Educational information boards along the way allow guests to learn about the diverse wildlife, trees and flowers.

The Area

We are adjacent to Strensall Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The Ebor Way and The Yorkshire Wolds Way offer picturesque walking routes and you can visit the historic city of York, home to cobbled streets, museums, restaurants and cafes. Places to visit include:
