The Roost Retreat
Details
The Roost Retreat is a charming holiday annexe tucked away in the village of Leeming Bar, offering a unique escape at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Once an old orangery, the building has been lovingly transformed into a warm and welcoming eco-retreat, combining rustic character with thoughtful touches and a calming atmosphere. Its high ceilings and original wooden beam give a sense of space and history, while the interior adds personality and charm.
Inside, the space is cosy and cleverly arranged, with French doors opening into a snug bedroom area featuring a luxurious four-poster king-size bed and two plush tub chairs. A generously sized en-suite bathroom includes a rain shower and a handy butler’s kitchen is perfect for preparing a quick brew or a bedtime hot chocolate. Guests are welcomed with a selection of Ringtons teas and biscuits and those staying four nights or more receive a hamper filled with homemade preserves. The playful poultry-themed décor throughout is a nod to the property’s farming past, adding a touch of character to this one-of-a-kind retreat.
The annexe is fully double glazed and fitted with blackout curtains for a restful stay. From the windows, you can enjoy tranquil views across a well-kept garden to the neighbouring park, with its tall trees and open space. A private patio area offers outdoor seating, a parasol and a barbecue, while a fire pit is available on request, ideal for cooler evenings under the stars. Accessed through a private side gate, the retreat offers privacy and seclusion while still being close to local amenities.
Its central location just off the A684 makes The Roost Retreat an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside.
