The Golden Lion Hotel has been a free house for the last 26 years and the three public bars all provide traditional hand pulled ales. A decking area to the rear of the hotel makes a perfect place to enjoy your drink on a lovely summer day.
Pen-y-Ghent towers over the village, which has pubs and a café to prepare and refresh those who challenge Pen-y-Ghent and the Three Peaks. It is situated on the Settle-Carlisle Railway that crosses a spectacular viaduct at nearby Ribblehead which can be seen on the introduction to the new hit TV show The Dales. The area is also popular for caving, potholing and scrambling as a result of the abundance of limestone surrounds.
