Union Place offers elegant bed & breakfast accommodation just a 5-minute stroll from the centre of Whitby. Our Grade II Listed Georgian townhouse is perfect for a memorable stay in a lovely area of North Yorkshire.

We have two spacious double rooms that share a luxury bathroom and a separate WC, all on the same landing. The rooms offer a blend of modern and period artefacts, paintings and furnishings. Both rooms come with crisp cotton linen and a courtesy tray with a range of Fair Trade Teas and coffee.

The Blue Room

Our south-facing room offers views towards the moors and over the formal garden. There is a marble Regency fire surround and the room is decorated with Farrow and Ball colours.

Green Room

This room faces north towards the sea and features a 19th Century Chinese wedding Cabinet. The room is decorated with Laura Ashley colours, paper and curtain fabrics.

Breakfast is served downstairs in the basement, offering kippers, smoked salmon, a continental spread, homemade preserves or a full English with home-laid eggs and tomatoes from the garden. After a day exploring, relax in the guest lounge that comes with a wood burner and TV.

We are just a 5-minute walk from the harbour and cliff tops. You can climb the 199 steps and walk along the cobbled streets. Unwind on the golden beaches or try one of the restaurants in town. Only a short drive away are Runswick Bay, Staithes, The North York National Park and Robin Hood’s Bay. Attractions to visit include:
