Flag Cottage is a self-catering holiday home in the picturesque village of West Burton, set within the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park. This recently refurbished traditional stone cottage combines character and modern comfort, offering a private garden, driveway and panoramic views across Wensleydale towards Castle Bolton.

The spacious, light-filled kitchen and dining area is superbly equipped with a fridge, separate freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, induction hob, oven, microwave, slow cooker, coffee machine, food mixer and iPod dock with radio, along with a range of other modern appliances. The flagstone floor complements the contemporary cream units, while the solid oak dining table and leather-seated chairs sit beside double-aspect windows framing sweeping dale views. The square lounge is full of charm, featuring exposed ceiling beams, a multi-fuel stove with logs provided, a cushioned flagstone window seat, built-in shelving and comfortable seating throughout. Guests can enjoy a 32-inch Smart Sky TV and a selection of books, walking guides and detailed maps of the area.

Upstairs, the cottage comfortably sleeps four guests in one king-size bedroom and one twin room. The main bedroom features a luxurious brass bed with high-quality bedding and traditional rustic oak furniture, offering ample space including room for a cot. The twin room is furnished with two full-size single beds and lighter oak furniture, with double-aspect windows providing superb panoramic views. The bathroom, located on the landing between the bedrooms, combines traditional wood panelling with a crisp white suite, including a bath with powerful MIRA shower over, heated towel rail, illuminated mirror with shaver point and complimentary toiletries with soft towels for each guest.

From the kitchen, the back door opens into a spacious enclosed garden. A covered area by the door provides storage for logs and waste bins, and a shed is available for bikes, garden furniture and outdoor games. A paved path leads to a lawned area with fruit trees and an attractive curved stairway up to an elevated patio with wrought iron furniture and a barbecue. This sun-trap patio offers a peaceful spot to relax and take in the far-reaching views over Wensleydale, Bishopdale and the surrounding fells. The private driveway, accessed via a side lane, provides ample parking for two cars and includes a 7KW electric vehicle charging point, all enclosed by traditional dry-stone walls with attractive gates.

West Burton, near Leyburn in North Yorkshire, is perfectly placed for exploring the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. Just a short walk from the village you’ll find the picturesque Cauldron Falls, while the magnificent Bolton Castle offers a fascinating glimpse into medieval history. The popular market town of Leyburn is nearby, with independent shops, cafés and traditional pubs, and the spectacular Aysgarth Falls are only a short drive away. Visitors can also explore the scenic beauty of Wensleydale, enjoy walking and cycling trails through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, or take a ride on the heritage Wensleydale Railway for a relaxing way to experience the countryside.
