Beckhouse is a beautiful collection of historic farm buildings which have been tastefully converted into high quality accommodation. The cottages retain many of the unique and traditional features belonging to the original buildings.

Choose from one of the eleven onsite cottages, which sleep from 2 to 8 people. Each has been comfortably appointed and includes everything you need for an enjoyable stay. A number of the cottages are equipped with log burners and BBQ's, high chairs, travel cots are available on request.

On the farm we keep mainly driving horses, mares and foals, donkeys and exotic birds. We also have a horse drawn carriage collection. There are stables on the farm, which we would let to anyone wishing to bring their own horse.

The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking, and guests are very welcome to explore the 47 acres of woodland and meadows onsite, all of which are within the North York Moors National Park. The scenery is beautiful and within a short drive you can reach a vast array of attractions. The village of Cropton has the New Inn Pub which has its own brewery and hearty food, and is exactly a miles walk from our door. There are a dozen other excellent pubs and restaurants within 15-20 mins drive.

We are situated midway between Rosedale Abbey and Pickering on the outskirts of Cropton, within walking distance of Cropton forest and the North York Moors. There are many tourist attractions in the area. The East Coast is a half hour drive away i.e. Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey with many small fishing villages along the way.

The city of York is just over half an hour journey by car. At Pickering the North Yorkshire Moors Railway travels through Heartbeat country (Goathland) and the various small stations in between. For the children there is Flamingoland not far away; this theme park and zoo provides a fun filled day for all the family.

There is much to do and see in this area and Beckhouse makes the ideal base from which to explore the beauty of North Yorkshire. There are many traditional public houses and inns in and around the area which serve food, the nearest being half a mile away. This also has it's own brewery where you can sample many traditional beers.
