The Old Watermill is a lovely Northamptonshire holiday home situated at Great Doddington and just a short drive away from Wellingborough. Our self catering is a charming and historic former watermill, listed Grade II and situated in a beautiful position on the banks of the River Nene.

Our holiday home is fully centrally heated and double glazed accommodation is for four, in two bedrooms. One has a four poster bed and en suite toilet with adjoining bathroom. The other has either two single beds or a kingsize double available and adjacent toilet and shower room.

The gourmet oak finish kitchen has many features including built in dishwasher, larder fridge, microwave, slow cooker, ceramic hob and fan assisted oven. The sitting room and adjoining dining area have a vaulted ceiling complete with the original elm truss beams supporting some of the restored mill machinery. A wood burning stove, oak flooring and leather seating complete the luxury look. On the ground floor is the entrance lobby and utility room with freezer and washer/drier.

Outside, car parking is for two vehicles and there is a small garden area with river frontage. There is a no smoking policy within the building. One well behaved pet is permitted as long as it brings its own bed.

Nestled amongst undulating landscapes are beautiful and unspoilt towns and villages with long histories going back to Saxon times and even earlier. With the ancient county town of Northampton at its heart, there is plenty here to interest the historian, walker, artist, photographer or nature lover. Our many traditional village pubs offer fine food and drink, while in town, the sheer variety of restaurant cuisines available is amazing.
