The Three Wheat Heads Inn is situated in Thropton near Rothbury at the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Our inn has comfortable guest rooms, a relaxing pub atmosphere and tasty food that is sure to suit any of our customers whether they stay overnight or just stop in for lunch.

Our guest rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated to ensure that your stay with us is as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. The decor and furnishings in the rooms has been done in a way to retain the character of this 300-year-old building. There are 5 guest rooms to choose from that are made up as double, twin, single and family rooms. They all include a TV, refreshments tray and have en suite facilities.

The food is superb at the inn and after a good night's sleep, there is nothing better than a hearty breakfast. We can provide an early morning wake-up call and breakfast if you have an important meeting to attend or make a delicious picnic hamper or packed lunch for you to take with you when visiting the region. A full-cooked Northumbrian or continent-style breakfast is available.

The Three Wheat Heads also has an established fine dining restaurant (mentioned in many food and drink guides). Our restaurant prides itself on serving freshly cooked, locally sourced food from the Coquet Valley area and is popular with tourists and local residents alike. There is also a superbly furnished lounge bar with an inglenook fireplace and comfy seating to enjoy your Northumbrian ale.

Northumberland is a beautiful part of England and is very popular with fisherman, especially on the River Coquet. Salmon and trout, amongst others, are caught on a regular basis. Fishing licenses can be purchased locally and the river is only 200 metres from our doorstep. The Three Wheat Heads Inn has the fishing rights to the stretch of the River Coquet that runs along the bottom of our field.

There are so many places to visit in Northumberland which attracts tourists, cyclists, nature lovers and walkers from around the world. The stunning Northumbrian coastline combined with rugged National parks and countryside is a natural beauty.
