The Hytte offers award-winning self catering accommodation in Bingfield near Hexham. Our Norwegian-inspired timber lodge comes with a grass roof and is in a countryside location. We are the perfect base for exploring a range of attractions in Northumberland.

Our luxurious lodge is the perfect venue for family and friends looking for somewhere special to stay. The fully equipped kitchen/dining area comes with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and fridge. A large dining area seats up to 8 people. The spacious and comfortable lounge boasts vaulted ceilings, wooden floors and a Norwegian log burner. Facilities include a Smart TV, DVD player and X Box games console. Patio doors lead to a large garden and veranda area. From here you can admire spectacular views of open countryside.

Four well furnished bedrooms are available, including two twin rooms. There is also a room with an electric bed with can be linked to form a king size bed and a further room with twin electric profiling beds. A shower room with a shower chair and a separate family bathroom are also available.

Excellent facilities include a sauna and hot tub. Outside there is an enclosed garden, patio with seating and BBQ.

We provide a welcome gift of homegrown free range eggs, chocolates, biscuits and sparkling wine on arrival.

The Hytte was designed from the outset as a perfect gathering place for families and friends, with special adaptations to meet the needs of guests with disabilities. This ensures that everyone can enjoy a holiday together.

From 2007 to 2020, we were assessed by "The National Accessible Scheme" and awarded the highest level of "Access Exceptional" for mobility. This certification guaranteed our standards for both independent and assisted wheelchair users, meeting the demanding British Standard BS 8300:2001. We also offer additional services and facilities for guests with visual and hearing impairments. Although we are no longer assessed by the scheme, we remain committed to high accessibility standards. Our height-adjustable beds, rise and recline chair, and hoist are suitable for guests up to 25 stone (160kg). Due to the safe upper weight limits of our furniture and equipment, we cannot cater to persons heavier than 25 stone (160kg). Our domestic furniture and standard beds, including the electric beds in the double room, are suitable for persons up to 21 stone (136kg). If your party includes more than one person over 21 stone (136kg), please contact us prior to booking so we can advise on the suitability of our facilities.
