Woodside Cottage in Rochester offers charming self catering accommodation. Our stone-built cottage dates from the late 1800s and offers easy access to Newcastle Upon Tyne, offering the perfect base for exploring Northumberland.

We are the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life, based in a picturesque countryside setting. Our cottage offers traditional features such as an open fire, thick stone walls and exposed beams, combined with modern facilities for a relaxing stay.

Unwind in the cosy living room that comes includes a smart TV, comfy seating and an open fire. Enjoy some home cooking in the fully equipped kitchen/dining room that comes with a range of appliances: fridge, cooking hob, oven, microwave, toaster and kettle, plus a log burner for those chilly days.

We have a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed on the first floor and a shower room. A fold-out single bed for a child/third guest can be provided.

Outside there is a small, gravelled garden with dining furniture for al fresco dining over a few glasses of wine.

Our cottage is in a great position for exploring the area, based in Northumberland National Park, an area of designated Dark Skies status. Only 30 miles is Kielder Forest, Reservoir and Observatory, whilst the Northumberland coast is an hour’s drive away. A pub is a mile away and the closest shop is less than a 5-minute walk.
