Glebe Farm Holiday Cottages are five sympathetically converted Victorian self catering barns. Nestled at the heart of a mixed 100 acre arable and beef farm in the delightful picturesque Trent River Valley, they provide the perfect base for a break away from the hustle and bustle of modern-day living. Gunthorpe is a short drive from Nottingham and a fantastic base from which to explore Nottinghamshire.

Our self catering cottages are set around a landscaped courtyard and surrounded by a patchwork of fields, river meadows, their own gardens, stunning views and private river fishing along the famous Trent Valley Way. Our largest cottage sleeps up to 5 people, so we can accommodate all guests from solo travellers to larger groups. When letting all properties, the cottages can sleep up to 17 people.

We are particularly pleased to say that we have 900 meters of prime River Trent fishing. The stretch is world-famous (in Gunthorpe) for the extra-large specimens of BARBEL fish caught recently weighing around 14Lb8oz. These prized fish are valued by river anglers up and down around the country.

The Granary: This cottage accommodates three first floor bedrooms - one twin room, another with a bunk bed and a third room with a single bed. The Granary is our only cottage that has a full bathroom (with shower over the bath), the kitchen has modern solid oak units, a fridge, microwave, full oven, and 4 ring hob. It opens onto a comfortable lounge/dining areas. The cottage has a private rear garden with garden furniture and overlooks open countryside.

The Barn: The largest of the cottages, this split-level accommodation offers two ground floor bedrooms - one twin and one single bedroom - as well as a double bedroom on the mezzanine floor. The shower room is fully tiled and on the ground floor. The cottage includes an open plan oak finish kitchen and comfortable lounge/dining area with French doors opening onto a private garden with outdoor furniture. The open vaulted ceilings and picture windows ensure the cottage is light-filled.

The Tackroom: This two-bedroom cottage has a double bedroom and walk-in shower room and loo on the ground floor and a twin room on the mezzanine floor. The open vaulted ceiling with oak truss also hosts a small play landing. The Tack room cottage has a walk-in shower room with washbasin and loo.

The Tack Room has a fully fitted oak kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge with icebox, and separate living/dining area with French doors that open onto a private garden with outdoor furniture which overlooks open countryside.

The Hayloft: The Hayloft Cottage is all ground floor accommodation that holds one twin bedroom with its own access to a private courtyard garden and another room with a single bed. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower, the modern kitchen opens up to the living areas with French doors that open onto a private garden with outdoor furniture, a picnic table and a barbeque for guest use.

The Swallows Rest: The smallest of the cottages, the Swallows Rest is all ground floor accommodation and hosts one spacious twin room with one separate large shower room. the open plan kitchen is finished in oak and opens up onto a lounge/dining room with access to a private courtyard garden. An interconnecting door opens to the Hayloft if there is the demand for a larger group.

There is a large variety of activities available close to Glebe Farm Cottages. The local village, Gunthorpe, is one mile away and hosts a variety of restaurants including Indian cuisine, Italian cuisine, Tom Brown’s Brassiere and two pubs.

The village of Lowdham is two miles from the cottages where you can enjoy the local shops and cafes and have access to the post office.
