Aurora is a recently built property finished to a high standard, offering three spacious bedrooms and comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The home is thoughtfully designed with modern amenities and plenty of space for a relaxing stay.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a welcoming entrance and hallway with ample room for coats and outdoor shoes. The large kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with an induction hob, full-size oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a Quooker tap for instant boiling water. A separate utility room includes a wine cooler, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a family bathroom with a separate bath and shower and a twin bedroom with two single beds.
Upstairs, there are two king-size bedrooms and a generous lounge featuring two large windows that offer stunning views over the patio and garden, looking out towards Scapa Flow. The lounge also includes a 55” Smart TV and DVD player. A spacious shower room can be accessed from both the hall and the master bedroom.
The ground floor benefits from underfloor heating supplied by an air source heat pump, while the upstairs rooms have individual radiators. A heat recovery system provides fresh air circulation throughout, making it ideal for allergy sufferers. A high-pressure water system runs through the entire home. Other features include a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine/dryer, oven, fridge freezer, Bluetooth speaker and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
Outside, there is off-road parking for up to two vehicles and a large south-facing garden with a patio area, perfect for relaxing in the six-person luxury hot tub. A sizeable shed offers secure storage for bikes, paddleboards and outdoor equipment. Guests also have access to a small selection of children’s toys, buckets and spades, as well as a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, clothes dryer and all bedding, towels, and electricity included at no extra cost. Recycling facilities are available on site and cots and highchairs can be provided on request (cot bedding not included).
For convenience, laundry and cleaning essentials such as tablets, hand soap and washing-up liquid are also supplied. An external power source is available for car charging at an additional cost of £5.00 per night; please advise at the time of booking if you’d like to use this facility.
Aurora is within walking distance of Kirkwall’s main attractions, including shops, restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Kirkwall Pier, the ferry terminal for the North Isles, is less than a 15-minute walk away.
