Charney Manor offers charming accommodation in Charney Bassett, perfect for Bed and Breakfast stays as well as residential retreats and day conferences. Our manor house near Wantage is in a beautiful setting and ideally placed for exploring Oxfordshire.

Our house is surrounded by countryside and offers simple and comfortable vedrooms. Some parts of the house date from the 13th Century.

We have 23 bedrooms, ( Single, Twin, Double or family rooms)which can sleep 35 residents or 43 with Gillet's Cottage. The house is also suitable for residential or day events. Outside there are 3 acres of gardens, a summer house, picnic tables and an orchard to enjoy during your time at Charney.

Most of the bedrooms are en suite and two have private bathrooms. All the bedrooms include tea and coffee-making facilities, TV's, hairdryers, towels and complimentary shower gel. Most rooms enjoy views of the garden. Rooms are based in The Manor, The Joan Vokins Annexe and The Barn.

We provide a continental breakfast as standard which is included in our rate. Breakfast is served in our 13th Century, character filled dining room with lovely stone carved windows which look out onto the beautiful gardens.

There is also a social room and a fully stocked library to use during your time at Charney.

Whilst staying with us you can enjoy lots of beautiful countryside walks. Uffington White Horse and William Morris’s Kelmscott Manor are nearby. Enjoy a drink at The Chequers Inn, just a 3-minute walk away. You can visit the market towns of Wantage and Abingdon. Attractions to visit include:
