The Gillets Cottage offers fabulous self catering accommodation in Charney Bassett. We are nestled in a peaceful location near Wantage, great for small groups or individuals. Further afield you can visit lots off attractions in Oxfordshire.

Our property was originally a pair of cottages in the grounds of Charney Manor and now offers cosy accommodation in a single cottage. The cottage is separate from the rest of the Manor.

Inside the cottage is a spacious sitting room, the perfect place to relax after a day sightseeing. There is a large dining room and an adjoining kitchen. Downstairs there is also a WC.

We have 5 bedrooms, including 2 singles and 2 twins. Downstairs there is a twin room. The two upstairs rooms can be converted into doubles with prior notice.

The cottage benefits from a coffee area, washer / dryer, dishwasher and microwave. We have a travel cot, high chair and stair gates available.

Outside there is a patio with grandee furniture, great for a glass of wine in the afternoon sun with views of the sheep paddock and meadows beyond.

We are perfect for enjoying lots of scenic countryside walks locally. A 3-minute stroll will take you to The Chequers Inn. Visit Uffington White Horse and William Morris’s historic Kelmscott Manor. The market towns of Wantage and Abingdon are easily accessible. Attractions to visit include:
