Great House Farm is set high above the Wye Valley, enjoying far-reaching views across the countryside that take in Hay-on-Wye and on clear days, the distant peaks of the Brecon Beacons. Each glamping pod at Great House Farm is designed with luxury and outdoor living in mind, featuring a British-made hot tub, private decking, patio area with seating, internet access and a bespoke wood-fired fire pit. Whether relaxing under the stars or enjoying a quiet morning taking in the views, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to enhance the experience.
The site offers a variety of pods to suit different needs. Two four-person pods, each with a double bed and sofa bed, are well suited to couples while still comfortably accommodating up to four guests. The Chwefru Pod, located at the edge of the site, offers added privacy and uninterrupted countryside views, making it a favourite for guests looking to fully switch off. Centrally positioned, the Irfon Pod also sleeps up to four and provides lovely views across the fields, where guests can enjoy watching the farm animals and soaking up the rural surroundings.
For larger groups, the Wye Pod sleeps up to six and includes a double bedroom, sofa bed, bunk beds, a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, making it ideal for families or those wanting extra space. The Severn Pod is the largest option and the first triple pod of its kind in the UK, sleeping up to eight guests with a king bedroom, double bedroom, sofa bed and bunk beds. It also benefits from a full kitchen, private bathroom and a cosy seating area with a flame-effect fire, along with sweeping valley views that make it a popular choice for group stays and special occasions.
In addition to glamping, Great House Farm also offers self-catering accommodation in the beautifully renovated farmhouse, which sleeps up to ten guests. Inside, there is a cosy sitting room with a wood burner and smart TV, a library and games room for all ages and a traditional kitchen equipped for family meals. The farmhouse features four bedrooms with luxury bedding, including a spacious master bedroom and additional double and twin rooms, along with both an en-suite shower room and a bathroom with a roll-top bath. Outside, guests can enjoy a garden with decking, a large hot tub, seating for alfresco dining and a fire pit that can also be used as a BBQ, creating a welcoming space to relax and socialise.
You can enjoy lots of walks in the area, including walks that take you to Llandeilo Graban Church, Llandeilo Hill and Twyn y Garth. A 25-mile drive away take you to The Elan Valley, home to a collection of man-made lakes. It has a visitor centre with a cafe and lots of walking and cycling routes. Pen Y Fan is 25 miles away and is the second-highest peak in Wales. At the top, you can enjoy views of the Bristol Channel, Gower Peninsular and the Cambrian Mountains.
