Tucked away in the peaceful countryside of Mid Wales, Rhosllyn Retreats offers two self catering lodges near Rhayader, each complete with a wood burner, private hot tub and beautiful lake views, creating a relaxing escape surrounded by nature. Sleeping between two and eight guests, the lodges are ideal for couples, families or groups, with the option to book both for larger parties and are perfectly located close to the market town of Rhayader and the spectacular Elan Valley reservoirs, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventures and reconnecting with the natural landscape.

Stepping inside either lodge, you are welcomed into a light-filled and spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, designed as a sociable space to relax and unwind after days spent exploring the surrounding area. The contemporary kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, wine fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer, while the inviting wood burner, with an initial supply of logs provided, creates a cosy atmosphere for cooler evenings spent watching a film or enjoying time together.

On the ground floor there are two super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms, one featuring an en-suite wet room and a veranda overlooking the lake, along with a separate wet room conveniently located next to the second bedroom. The first floor is home to two impressive super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms, each with a freestanding bath within the bedroom and en-suite wet rooms; the master suite also enjoys a private balcony with lake views, while the rear bedroom looks out across rolling green hills and all bedrooms are equipped with Smart TVs.

Outside, an enclosed and fully covered terrace provides a relaxing space to enjoy the outdoors in all weathers, complete with a six-person hot tub and dining furniture for al fresco meals, while a charcoal barbecue sits on the lawned area nearby. With peaceful lakeside views, tranquil surroundings and the option to accommodate up to 16 guests when both lodges are booked together, this is an ideal setting for larger group getaways.

Rhayader is a fantastic base for exploring the natural beauty of Powys, with the spectacular Elan Valley just a short drive away, offering dramatic dams, reservoirs and miles of scenic walking and cycling routes. The town itself is known as the outdoor capital of Wales and is close to the Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, where visitors can watch red kites up close. Nearby attractions include the historic market town of Llandrindod Wells, the beautiful Wye Valley, and the Cambrian Mountains, making the area ideal for wildlife spotting, outdoor adventures and discovering some of Wales’ most unspoilt landscapes.
