Glanhenwye is a 4 acre farm providing 3 self catering cottages in the Wye Valley. The holiday cottages are situated in the village of Glasbury-on-Wye which is between Hereford and Brecon in the county of Powys. All the cottages retain their original features and some have been added to make them all unique, practical and equipped with all modern conveniences.
Yellow Drama has an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge upstairs giving a great sense of space. The original oak roof timbers are exposed making a great feature throughout the upstairs of this cottage.
Above the double en suite bedroom with adjoining single room, is a very large bedroom with a four poster bed, a freestanding sink, shower room and a WC. This is a very special bedroom featuring three big circular windows, a curved wall and plenty of space and ambiance.
Jessica has the most conventional layout of the three cottages. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms of which one is en-suite. Also upstairs is a twin bedroom and a bathroom with separate shower.
Downstairs is a well designed kitchen. The sitting, dining room is spacious and has an open fire. Underfloor heating keeps the ground floor warm with radiators upstairs.
Great attention has been paid to decor and furnishings. Although all the original features have been retained, the conversion is well thought out and introduces a modern and contemporary ambiance.
Margaux Rose, the largest of the three cottages, has one super king and one king size bedroom upstairs and one twin and one king size bedroom downstairs. The bedrooms are separated from the upstairs Lounge by a large hallway open to both floors.
The upstairs lounge is light, with high ceilings and exposed beams it shares the space, windows and great views with the dining area and, to make cooking a more sociable affair, the large open plan kitchen.
There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. Margaux Rose has a very spacious and modern feel but still retains the original features of the hayloft it was before.
There is underfloor heating downstairs so the flagstone and oak floors will feel warm and comfortable under your toes.
Glanhenwye is located in Glasbury-on-Wye on the A438 which runs between Brecon and Hereford. Approximately 3/4 of a mile North, over the Glasbury Bridge, turn left for Maesyronnen Chapel, we are on the right before the hill.
