Historically home to a crofting family, Craigton Croft House is now a quaint seaside cottage that accommodates up to six guests. Situated between the shoreline of Loch Carron and the renowned Kyle railway line, the cottage is located in Attadale on the edge of the beautiful Loch Carron in the Scottish Highlands. Its quirky interior, featuring an eclectic mix of antiques and collected treasures, offers a unique and inviting atmosphere that makes Craigton a delightful place to unwind. With breathtaking views of Skye’s Cuillin ridge to the west and the dramatic Bealach Na Ba, the celebrated high route to the Applecross peninsula to the north, Craigton provides both a feast for the eyes and a tonic for the soul. It remains cosy and welcoming throughout the year.

Inside, guests will find a characterful sitting room with exposed beams and a wood burner, ideal for relaxing evenings. The dining area, complete with a large family-sized table, overlooks the loch, creating a picturesque setting for meals. The kitchen, though compact, is well-equipped with a cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer, ensuring all essentials are on hand. The cottage offers three bedrooms to sleep up to six people: a double and a twin on the ground floor, plus another double tucked into the eaves upstairs. There is one bathroom and an additional shower room that also houses a washing machine.

Outside, the property boasts pretty gardens that lead directly to the beach via a small gate. A terrace with a garden table, chairs and a barbecue provides the perfect setting for outdoor dining and enjoying the fresh Highland air. Electric heating and bed linen are included in the stay, along with an initial supply of logs for the fire. A travel cot and high chair are available upon request and one well-behaved dog is welcome with prior notice at the time of booking.

Guests can explore the shoreline, spot local wildlife, or take part in outdoor activities such as wild swimming, kayaking (bring your own equipment), or simply dipping toes in the water. The beach also offers simple pleasures like stone skimming, pond dipping in the rock pools and kite flying. As evening falls and the sun sets behind the mountain peaks, guests can make the most of a lochside barbecue, enjoying the local catch of the day. When the stars come out and the cottage lights twinkle in the dusk, a warming toddy or a mug of hot chocolate by the fire is the perfect way to end a truly special day. Places to visit include:
