Located just 3 miles from Selkirk, 6 miles from Galashiels and 8 miles from Melrose, the cottage enjoys proximity to the central Border towns. Situated on an upland stock farm with grazing for sheep and cattle, Nether Whitlaw Cottage is the upgraded former farm worker's dwelling, secluded in extensive grounds and half a mile from the nearest public road within an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The cottage is elegantly furnished to a high standard, providing comfortable accommodation amidst stunning scenery. The well-equipped dining kitchen features a modern electric cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher and fridge freezer, along with a full range of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cookware. Double doors open from the kitchen to the front garden.

The cottage offers a ground-floor double en-suite bedroom, a spacious king-sized bedroom upstairs and a large twin room with an option for an additional single bed if needed. All bedrooms are furnished with pillows, modern non-feather duvets and provided bed linen. The en-suite downstairs features a double bed, wardrobe, dressing table and a bathroom with a power shower, WC, wash hand basin, shaver point, and heated towel rail. Upstairs, the twin room includes twin beds and storage, while the second bedroom has a king-sized bed and storage, both enjoying views of the Cheviot Hills.

Outside, guests have exclusive access to a large enclosed garden area and woodland, complete with garden furniture and a small garage. The panoramic views from the cottage encompass the Cheviot Hills and the Border Country, creating an unforgettable setting.

The Scottish Borders region offers a diverse range of outdoor and rural activities to suit all interests, from hill walking and fishing in nearby rivers to horse riding and observing point-to-point racing. History enthusiasts can explore local museums and historical sites showcasing artefacts from Roman times through to the Border Reivers era. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the vibrant Borders Festivals, including the Common Ridings in Selkirk, Hawick and Lauder, the Braw Lads Gathering in Galashiels and the Beltane in Peebles, each celebrating ancient traditions still cherished today.
