Details

Border Hotel offers superb accommodation, food and beverages in Kirk Yetholm near Kelso. Our award winning pub on the Scottish Borders is the perfect place to escape to from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Dating from 1750 The Border Hotel offers a welcome sight to the discerning traveller. Its commanding position at the head of the village green catches the imagination with its traditional thatched roof and eye catching frontage.

The Border Hotel has 5 en suite rooms, individually named after local places of interest. Each room offers exceptionally high standards of comfort with spectacular views over the village green or the surrounding countryside. We have doubles, twins or a family room available. All the rooms contain a range of excellent facilities: flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities and hair dryer. Breakfasts are served from 8.00am and offer a comprehensive choice from the traditional Scottish breakfast to the popular scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.

Our restaurant offers excellent home cooked food. Customers can enjoy a menu which alters to suit the seasons. Scottish Borders farms supply eggs, vegetables, meat and cereals. You can eat in the bar or in the Fishermans room and the conservatory. In the Summer you can dine in the pretty outdoor garden. We also have a fantastic function room. The Pennine Suite offers space for up to 100 guests with its own private bar. We can arrange your event for you and offer you a private space for your own use.

The Public Bar, with its cosy log fire, is open all day and offers a range of bitters and lagers including a selection of real ales. It is a true local bar with character and charm.

We also have a new two bedroom apartment in the hotel as well as Church View, our three bedroom holiday cottage on the village green.

Kirk Yetholm is best known as a centre for walkers. The Pennine Way Long Distance Footpath ends at the Border Hotel, a mere 268 miles north of its southern terminus in Edale, Derbyshire. Kirk Yetholm has also become a feature on the St. Cuthbert's Way, a 62 mile walk following in the footsteps of St. Cuthbert from Melrose to Lindisfarne.
