River Steam Holidays in Highley offers superb self catering accommodation, set in a beautiful area of The Severn Valley. Our properties in Shropshire are in a magical location, nestled below the steam railway and station. We are close to Bridgnorth and ideal for a tranquil getaway, offering the unique experience of watching the trains rolling past in all their glory.

Ship Cottage: This large property sleeps up to 8 people and comes with a range of fabulous facilities. Unwind in the cosy snug which has oak beams, a flat-screen TV, DVD player and log burner to keep you warm in the winter months. The well-equipped kitchen is great for home cooking and includes a large family-sized standing fridge, separate freezer, washing machine and cooker with an electric oven and gas hob. Outside there is a delightful patio and elevated decking to relax on.

In total there are 4 bedrooms: 1 twin en suite and 1 double. On the top floor are two further rooms which share a wet room. The top floor room has an adjoining room with a sofa. Each bedroom includes a TV.

Kingfisher Lodge: Our outstanding lodge is in a breathtaking position on the western banks of the River Severn. The lodge sleeps 4 people in a double and a twin, both of which share a shower room. A delightful open-plan kitchen/living area boasts stunning views over the river. Outside there is an enclosed garden and a shed for bait and bike storage.

Hazeldene Lodge: This beautiful lodge is perfect for an unforgettable romantic break, sleeping 2 in a twin room and enjoying amazing river/valley views. There is a shower room and the light-filled living room includes a TV and DVD player. The fully-equipped kitchen has a matching toaster and kettle, washing machine, fridge freezer and an electric oven and hob. Outside enjoy a spot of al fresco dining on the decking/patio. A shed is lockable for bikes, fishing tackle and storage.

Holly Tree Lodge: Our fantastic lodge enjoys glorious views over the valley and river, with the front doors opening onto the valley and train track behind. The lodge sleeps 4 in a double and twin which share a shower room. The living area has a flat-screen TV and DVD player and a fully-equipped kitchen/diner have an electric hob and cooker along with a washing machine, fridge freezer, oven and hob. A shed is available for bait and bike storage and the lawn has a table and chairs, great for a morning coffee.

The Jolly Roger: This excellent property offers a cosy atmosphere and sleeps 6 people. Upstairs there is a twin and double room which share a bathroom. Downstairs there is a twin room and wet room. Unwind in the living/dining area which has a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Outside there is an enclosed garden, a great space for an afternoon glass of wine in the sun.

The Old Trout: Our wonderful cottage comes with everything you need for a special getaway. From the patio, you can admire picturesque views over the river and valley. Gorgeous features include a toasty log burner and old oak beams. The kitchen is well-equipped and includes a large fridge, electric oven and hob, whilst the utility room houses the freezer. Bedrooms consist of a twin and double which share a wet room. A comfy lounge has a flat-screen TV.

Fishing enthusiasts are spoilt for choice, with roach, chubb and barbel all available in the area. Outside the properties, you can fish or half a mile upstream fishing opportunities are available too. The Severn Trent area offers coarse fishing from mid-June to mid-March, with all types of bait permitted. Superb attractions to visit include:
